I'm going to have a baby daughter that's scheduled to be born in 2 weeks. what am I in for for the first year? am I gonna be able to sleep at all?also I live in Japan and my wife is a local.

1st year:Change a few diapers, make sure your wife has all her basic needs met, manage anything that might kill the baby (some aren't obvious like being close to a heater) , play with the baby a bit every day to keep her calm.>>34852870Cosleeping doesn't stop crying. It kept everyone at our house from getting getting enough sleep from having to move throughout the night. When they're old enough to sleep in a crib let them. The first few nights will be crying nonstop . Pull all nighters playing video games and ignore it if the kid's needs were met. The crying stops in a few days and they learn soothe themselves to sleep. If they keep cosleeping they don't do it on their own.

Things one book or person will tell you get contradicted by the next person or book.
