How do I break my job conditioning? Lately I've been very disillusioned at my job, after working here for 10+ years, my salary is literally lower (they removed some sort of firm bonus that we used to get, so now the overall pay is like 20% lower). After emailing my boss every month for a full year for a raise and getting ignored (at this point is not even about the raise anymore, it's the principle), I've been working less and less, slacking more and more and generally not caring all that much anymore. I used to be really active in the firm, doing a lot of extra stuff, running around and solving shit.Well, today it kinda hit me and I've been feeling kinda off, like I should be working harder, trying harder, solving more stuff, doing extra hours and such. Then I think about how shit my pay is (it's a low salary even in the standard of this position), so I have this constant struggle inside: I feel bad, I feel like I should work harder, but then I remember that I'm not getting paid for this shit, move on, then feel bad again, and so on. It feels like conditioning, manipulation, etc. How do I break out of this?
>>34852990western jobs are funny, you're expected to hop from job to job, or your wages will be garnished
>>34853209Yep. In the west they are willing to find new hires (an expense), train them (an expense) and pay them more than old hires. Yet they are not willing to give raises or benefits to existing employees who did their job well. Remember: It's a job. They owe you. You don't owe them. If they won't give you respect and a decent salary, they get what they paid for.
