While at work today a couple of guys I served asked me whether I did modeling and when I said no, obviously, they said I should look into it.That I "have the face for it".I immediately brushed them off because I thought it was just a light jab or something intended to make me flustered for their entertainment.But they kept saying they were serious, an when they left they reiterated that they weren't joking and that I should look into it.I've had someone say the same thing to me before but they were close family so it doesn't count.Now, I don't think I'm much of a looker at all. And I get zero female attention which basically just confirms it for me.I'm still 99% sure they were pulling my leg but I realized on my way home that many of the people I saw in the billboards aren't exactly conventionally attractive.So fine, whatever, I'll play along.Does anyone know how I can get some feedback on my looks and suitability for modeling that isn't from a couple of blokes in a pub?Friends and family aren't a reliable source and I'm too sperg to go and survey random strangers.How would one even go about getting into modelling?>inb4 post face here or /soc/ or plebbitNo.

I do the bare minimum skin care for my face like exfoliating and moisturizing every time I shower. My body skin is kinda fucked up though because I have a lot of scars from surgery and stretch marks.
>>34855717Do you want to model or not? You should think more about whether you want to, instead of whether you are "worthy". Not all models look like Henry Cavill. There are all sorts of models on billboards and department store advertisements and so forth. Understand what the job entails. I don't know much but from what I've passively heard you pay to get some professional photos taken and then submit them to agencies. Depending on where you live there might be talent calls you can show up to. Then after that, expect to be treated like cattle. You stand in line for a long time with dozens or sometimes hundreds of other people, and get your various body parts measured and photographed like a farm animal at the fair. It's not that glamorous.But it seems worthwhile, you get a novel experience, meet new people, network, get some soft skills, build your resume. Go for it. Don't waste time looking for advice from rando's on the internet, instead do a google map search for modeling agencies near you, make productive first steps. Don't overthink it.

>>34855717I was a small time actor for a bit, it's really not that hard to get into this kind of stuff if you go in with the expectation that you won't be successful overnight and will probably never get famous because of it. I'm more familiar with acting but I did a little modeling through that. I even was in a runway show for some weird Asian clothing line.Just look up casting/modeling agencies in your area. See if they are offering any classes on modeling or acting. Do a class from the agencies themselves if you can because often the people running those classes are the people doing the casting, or at least report to them. They use classes like those as a talent scouting avenue.
>>34857820Being capable of acting and modeling is definitely necessary to get into that field, but modeling is at best, knowing how to walk a couple ways, making a modelesque face and striking poses, if you can't practice that in your room, while looking into a mirror, no amount of modeling classes is going to save you.And being an actor is basically about learning how to make realistic facial expressions on demand and naturally flowing between them while controlling your body language and voice.Any information on how to do that properly will only be surface level and it depends largely on you figuring it out yourself. Also I seriously doubt any legitamite agency would only use modeling/acting classes as a pipeline for becoming an actor.
