Do guys like it when a girl asks about their hobbies? My crush is really into Gundam, and I’ve been looking up some stuff about it because I genuinely want to understand what he likes and have something to talk about with him. I just want to show that I’m interested in the things he enjoys, but I’m worried I might be asking too many questions or accidentally invading his space. Do guys generally appreciate this, or can it get annoying?
>>34856018Don't over think it but you can watch some animu cartoons if you like wanna understand where it came from https://archive.org/details/mobile-suit-gundam0079/Mobile+Suit+Gundam+Ep+01+Gundam+Rising.mp4
>>34856018>Do guys generally appreciate this, or can it get annoying? Both, I guess. I’m not really into Gundam but I really fucking love the Dune series of books (just the six original ones Frank Herbert wrote. Everything his son and others added later is absolute garbage.)I could talk about Dune all fucking day. It would come to the point of how informed the questions were when it came to me getting annoyed. Is somebody said>so anon what do you think about the spice and Benet Gesserit?I really would not know how to answer that. The question is truly just so broad I couldn’t even tell where they’re going with it. If somebody asked, instead:>Why do none of the movies make any sense?Or>is anything about the HBO “Benet Gesserit” tv show worth watching for a dune fan?Or even just>Hey what was up with that huge worm guy that was only in one book?I have a lot to say and could go on and on. I get that she has almost certainly not read the entire series and that’s totally fine. “Informed” doesn’t mean a scholar of the material to me here, it just means asking me a real question where you actually want to hear the answer.Eventually my gf did read the dune series and now we even have shitloads more to talk about when we do. She knows what a ghanima is apparently better than Google because Google translates it as simply “a spoil of war”, which is only half the definition. If you’re really really interested, then watch/read the source material and tell him what you think of it. He will be like “fuck yes”
>>34856018If you want to talk to him about it, why are you researching it independently instead of talking to him about it?To answer your more general question: yes, it is nice to talk about things I'm interested in; but only if you yourself are *genuinely* interested in it too, or at least curious about it. There's nothing worse than someone faking an interest in something in order to get close to me.
>>34856043Hey anon. What do you think about the spice and the bene gesserit?
>>34856077>me on the right
>>34856018Everyone likes to talk about things they're interested in
>>34856045women pretend to like stuff that chad is into
>>34856018>Do guys generally appreciate thisYes, a lot>or can it get annoying?Yes, oftenAll of it relies on how into it you genuinely are. If you're using the hobby to open up chatter it can become painfully obvious you're not actually into it. Don't force it, if you don't like it just interact in the other ways you connect. If you're REALLY into it just leave room for the solo focus now and then. It's not hard.
>>34856045>To answer your more general question: yes, it is nice to talk about things I'm interested in; but only if you yourself are *genuinely* interested in it too, or at least curious about it. There's nothing worse than someone faking an interest in something in order to get close to me.This.OP just sounds like a pickme trying to catch a guy out of her league. I noticed a lot of fat girls doing this, which OP most likely is since we're on 4chan.
>>34856192>pickmeCan a male anon please explain to me why “pick me” is apparently so bad? As far as I’m concerned, women absolutely should be going out of their way to appeal to men. If the guy is out of her league that’s a different issue but at least she’s not a man hating douche.Do you actively want women to be antisocial and rude? Because it seems like “pickme” is just a put down for women who are actually sweet and thoughtful by pissy femcels who hate that.
>>34856031OMG THANK YOU I REALLY APPRECIATE THIS ANON
>>34856045I just think that when I like someone, I also want to get to know the little world they enjoy. So when they talk about something they’re passionate about, I want to genuinely listen and understand, rather than just nodding and saying, “Oh, that’s cool.” But I’m also worried that asking too many questions might come across as intrusive or make me seem too eager. Do you think this kind of attention is okay, or can it be too much?
>>34856127>women pretend to like stuff that chad is intoAnd it doesn't work.
>>34856018most men go their entire lives without anyone ever giving a shit about them or what they like. You showing interest is a huge boon. The bad part is that if someone is into Gundam they're probably autistic retards and won't pick up on the non-subtle cues such as showing interest in their hobbies
>>34856194>Can a male anon please explain to me why “pick me” is apparently so bad?In general, it's not a good idea to pretend to be something you're not, or to pretend to believe things you don't actually believe, in order to impress someone. And it's also not positive to try to make other people look bad in order to make yourself look good in comparison: the essence of a pick-me girl is that she is Not Like Other Girls™. Even if it's genuine, internalised misogyny isn't attractive in a woman.
>>34856018I will not touch a girl that has no overlap or interest in learning about my interest.I personally love talking about the things I love, but everyone is different, you should be asking your bf this honestly.Anyways watch gundam gquuuuuux it's sweet.
>>34856296>internalized misogynyI wish you had put this phrase earlier in your post so I could have just stopped reading and moved on.
>>34856296Sounds like you have a lot of internalized misandry, “bro”
>>34856438Thank you anon for the recommendation definitely gonna watch it
>>34856018Watch an episode or two. If you think you can sit through all of it, watch the rest together with him. He'd be pretty trash to not feel charmed.
>>34856018Just ask him out then move on if rejectedDon't bother unless you are actually interested in whatever they're interested in
