>>34856168Here’s the very brutally honest answerDo something or lower your opinion of yourself. You are past the age where your “potential” matters and entering the age where what you do and have done matters. You can deem yourself as talented as you want to but that’s going to seem less and less true to everyone else as the years go by without any interesting activity on your part.So in other words your motivation should come from wanting to maintain this high opinion of yourself. Otherwise you have to lower it and admit you’re not as great as you think.

>>34856168If you're having trouble getting started on something, it's probably because you're looking at the whole of a massive project and thinking that it's so big you'll never finish, so why bother? But every project is completed in a very large number of tiny steps, and the trick is not to focus on all of them, but just one.For example, when I needed to get some work done, I would say to myself "There is obviously no way in hell I will ever finish this; but I expect I could probably summon up the energy to work for just 25 minutes. So I'll do that. There's a very good chance that at the end of the 25 minutes, I will stop and not do any more." Then I'd set a timer, do exactly 25 minutes, then stop, get up, move away from my desk, walk around the room a bit, stretch, etc. Then after five minutes of that, I would think "Well, that wasn't actually quite as bad as I thought. Maybe I could do *one* more 25 minute session? But I'm definitely not committing myself to any more than that." Set the timer again. Again, stop after 25 minutes, walk around, stretch. Then think "Hmm, maybe I could actually manage one more...?" If you make it as far as the fourth 25 minute session you take a minimum of a half hour break. If you manage 8, break for at least an hour, and another half hour break if you make it to 12. Never attempt more than 16.>inb4 Pomodoro techniqueYes, but that's not the important aspect. The important part is that you NEVER commit to doing more than one 25 minute session. You tell yourself "I'll just do this, and if I feel like stopping, I will." The whole project may be impossible, but working on it for 25 minutes isn't. And the way you eventually get somewhere is that all those separate 25 minute sessions begin to add up, almost without you noticing.
>>34856168you will never feel motivation unless you get control and agency over your own lifeyou probably live with your parents and can't get a job and move outMotivation comes from circumstances and environmentChange that and you'll see yourself caring about survival and being motivated to get shit done, now everyone around you does shit for you so you will never feel motivated to do anything, you don't *need* to be
