I'm a man and I've had a few different therapists at different times and in different geographic locations in my life.
The best one I ever had was a woman, and the worse one's I've ever had were women too. The men all seem to be in the middle of the road.
The best one helped me through the hardest time of my life when I was suicidal. She was an older woman in her 50s with grown children who had a very successful career in finance before becoming a therapist in her 40s. She would often give me advice based on her real life experiences with her career or children that was very helpful.
The worse one was a woman in her early 30s getting a PhD and I got her services for free because she was a student. She seemed to be reading off a script at times, and could never really understand my problems because she was a beautiful young woman who basically lived life on easy mode. I was complaining about how I was lonely and how people aren't very welcoming to me if they don't know me. She went on and on about how everyone is super nice and will give you anything you want if you just ask for it. True for her, not me. She could not fathom the life I lived at all. I called her out on it and she didn't really know what to say. I also think I wasn't honest with her because some part of me was attracted to her and subconsciously I didn't want to appear weak in front of her, whereas with the older woman I didn't care.
I don't think you need a male therapist necessarily, but if you're going to get a female one, get one that has life experience and is no longer beautiful.

Any "therapy" that does not include a fuck session with a hot prostitute first is not real therapy. Half the clients would suddenly become well before even talking to the therapist.

I've had four male therapists.
The first one had no initiative and basically wanted to just listen to me talk while never writing anything down or offering any input.
The second one would often ask what i was watching or playing recently, and then pull out a thick foam-padded tablet to google whatever i mentioned. and then he'd nod quietly going "hmm, i see." as if any of the text was somehow relevant to my case.
The third one didn't even read my files. He asked if i liked men or women, i said women (i'm a man) and he immediately flew into a rant about his lesbian daughter and her tough biker girlfriend. After nearly 15 minutes he said "i have no problems with gay people, i just don't like my daughter's new girlfriend".
The fourth was actually pretty good and helped me through a few issues.

Seems like you're very concerned with what women think of you, and you can't help but imagine hostility and mockery from women who get close to you.
My advice is that you tell your therapist about that.

Let me be straight with you, If you really want to overcome your "problems."
No amount of a therapist objectifying your experience will ever do that. Being told exactly what is wrong with you, will just make you internalize your problems as your identity instead of dealing with them.
At the end of the day the only thing that can ever really "fix" someone, is by letting them experiencing the unconditional love they never felt as a child through another person.
Its is almost impossible to find someone like that so your best bet is to get a cat.
Cats really do fix all of the worlds problems, they are perfect little creatures and I love each and every one.
