corporate went hard against remote work after covid. unless you got a cush veteran pick or you're working on your own business/a shit job. most those job apps are in such demand that the people 'hiring' are just looking for suckers to give them their information so they can resell it.
companies also put out false hiring because it makes their stock numbers look better.
you can blame the anti-work movement since everyone wanted a remote job and immediately bought mouse jigglers to make them appear busy at work as they watched netflix.
i'd expect most remote positions now are only offered in-house by people vetted by the company.
alternatively i'd look for seasonal work or ones with unique situations. you may have to lower your standards a bit, but you'd only be working for a smaller chunk of the year. wildland fire/usfs, maritime (many positions only work 6 months of the year), ski resorts, tour guides/park ranger. some of these are on in coolworks in the us. jobs like maritime are ones with good unions. there's other unique situations like nuclear facilities where security is playing nintendo all day and are only hired to make sure no one does anything stupid there (which never happens).
good luck. if you're serious about the remote i'd either settle for something no one else wants to do (like call centers which will probably get replaced by ai) or find your own little niche business

In the olden days, you came home to a wife cooking dinner who had spent at least some portion of the day taking care of household errands. Oh, you also made enough to own a house and raise kids.

As for remote work, IDK how tf people actually find jobs remotely. I'm hopefully going full remote soon, but it's taken 2.5 years of hybrid with the company and I'm asking for it in lieu of a raise. Good chance they end up firing me anyways after the first few months if I do it, but it will at least give me the opportunity to relocate to a place with more options.

Dont know, friends are finding remote jobs the same as mine but havent asked more details about it. Maybe connections. For other jobs seasonal are petty governement jobs but those rarely are given without said connections due to competition. Would have done that already if it was an option.

I dont even have a home how can I even manage to raise a family? Huge problem is im in a shitty small town with barely anything. Its ohio tier but even worse if thats possible. What do you do when you get home? Do you throw your bag down and your coat off and plop down on the couch? Start watching tv or youtube or playing game?
One thing I've found effective is just jumping straight into whatever you have to do right after you get home. Don't sit down, don't "take a minute" to have a breather. If you really need to regain composure do that in your car or at the bus stop after you get off or whatever. I've been trying to make this a habit because it really does let you get more done after work, use up that last bit of energy you have before you truly need to rest and relax.
I worked from home (not remote, my own business) for several years and got sick of it. I will admit that it gave me time to maintain a large garden but not sure it was worth it. I don't live in a place with a yard anymore and moved my business to an office so I don't have a one to one comparison anyway.
