If focusing on a goal counts as a special intrest? I have monotropic thinking about romance/getting a husband as an autistic person, and I want to use the correct vocabulary for it
>>

No it doesn't. Focusing on goals is a common ability everyone has.
>>
>>34857797
No, thats called having a goal. A special interest is a subject you actively study, like always looking for new big foot sightings.
>>

Well you're definitely not faking autism. Only an autist would be this pedantic about this kind of thing. But neurotypical people accomplish goals all the time and even devote large segments of their life to them and I wouldn't say that's a special interest. A special interest is more like being obsessed with a topic for no particular reason other than that you think it's way more interesting than another person would.

True but I am more monotropic about it than neurotypicals I assume since they think it is weird. Also I guess I do like the hope it gives me so idk

If you want correct vocabulary don't even use the word autism because that label implies all sorts of things it shouldn't

>I have monotropic thinking about romance/getting a husband as an autistic

You have a goal/desire of getting a husband/obtaining romance. You don't need the bullshit autistic framing version of it muh stamp of autism certified autistic
