So, how do you all, "Get over it," in regards to your past traumatic experiences? So many people have said to me things like, "Just change your mind about it," and, "Just do it." I'd like to be able to do that, but whatever behavior patterns are there seem to have been so deeply ingrained that its just so normal for me to react to everything like a complete angry faggot loser all the time. When I tell people about my past trauma, they start comparing themselves to me, pretty much minimizing everything I just said, telling me they had a worse experience, and making me feel like even more of a angry faggot loser because I can't just, "Pull Myself Up By The Bootstraps," and so-on.I'm getting meds today so that I don't have to feel, basically. SSRIs. Yeah, they pretty much wipe out most of the intense feelings I get, like Love and the deep sadness, and kind of level me out so that I'm a redundant automaton robot weirdo.I really don't like living like this. I've already had two suicide attempts because I'm such a complete angry faggot loser all the time, and I failed doing that too, like everything else in my life that I wanted to accomplish for myself. I just want to do better and be happier in life and not be miserable and 'on guard' and on 'high alert' all the time. So, does anyone have any advice on, "How to get over your past," and/or, "Just get over it," or do I just have to live with it and make do?
Shake. There's a community I forget what is called about shaking intentionally (not cold shake) to get rid of traumatic experiences. It's based on how animals shake after getting into dangerous situations and they don't get any PTSD because of it.It basically says that because of societally norms we see shaking in public or by ourselves as weak or weird when in reality it helps us "massage" the nervous system and get rid of the baggage of trauma.

>>34872792heroic dose of psilocybin in a comfortable setting with a trip sitter
>>34872792It comes from a change in attitude and priority. Someone who only values his own comfort and ease will have no choice but to be resentful towards a past that was full of discomfort and struggle, while also being fearful towards anything that threatens to make his future uncomfortable or difficult. Someone who has learned how to value higher things, on the other hand, has the ability to turn every adversity, whether it be in the past, present or future, into an opportunity to get closer to those higher ideals. When I look back at my own painful past, I don't feel resentment on account of the pain I felt back then or the opportunities I missed. Instead, what I feel is gratitude for the lessons that it taught me. If I had had a fair childhood, I wouldn't have learned the value of justice. If I wasn't surrounded by cruelty, I wouldn't have learned the value of compassion. I'm glad that I went through what I did because I'm glad to be who I am today, and all of that rests on the fact that I love truth for truth's sake and goodness for goodness's sake. I value something higher than myself, so it makes it easy to endure pain for the sake of what I value most. This is only possible so long as what I value most isn't selfish pleasure or selfish comfort or selfish ease. Basically, the first step is to love learning and the second step is to look back to your past to see what you've learned. Everyone's past, no matter how terrible, no matter how dreary, no matter how painful, was full of valuable lessons. You just have to learn how to appreciate them.
>>34872828Where do I find a, "Trip Sitter?"I'm seriously asking.
>>34872881>C-PTSD is legit man, that can't be treated with normal therapy >So we present you: Trauma Informed Therapy, where you inform us you have trauma, and we give you the regular ass therapy.
>>34872868so either you ask a friend or family member or if that isn't an option you will just have to search for them. most likely either by making friends with some hippies, or by paying a service worker, since a trip can last 5-8 hours and you will need a person by your side giving you water or holding you and calming you if it does get bad. just be creative
>>34873093how does it work though? do you have to be guided through it, like with a therapist or a friend (for example) or does it just happen automatically?I see the need for a 'sitter' to make sure I don't do anything stupid, to tell me that everything is okay, and that its only the effect of the mushrooms, but what other purposes do they serve?I honestly don't know.
>>34873301look up trip reports. it just happens. in short their job is to prevent you from getting a psychosis or doing something silly or harming yourself.they act as your guardian, they give you water or a snack, comfort you or listen if necessary, and ground you during any discomfort. you can still do it alone.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_35WpD-olhU
>>34873370no fucking way are you still suggesting this to depressed/traumatized people claiming 90% of people heal from it when I just told you I was in that depressed position, with no one that I could trust to see me shit myself and admit my darkest secrets while drooling like a child, went full retard psychosis on a significantly smaller dose than the one you just linkedI think the first step isn't shocking yourself out of being an "angry faggot loser" like OP with psilocybin, it's finding someone that you can actually trust on that level to see you trip on psilocybin. That goes way further than just stepping into an Oregon clinic and hoping their ambient playlist on Spotify, broadcast to you at 128kbps opus, will heal your mental ills.tl;dr you're a fag shill, stop it
>>34873960didnt read, you are a faggot that drew the short stick, sucks for you, but spare everyone else the fucking sob story you bitch ass faggot.thousands of people in the US are literally treating their literally otherwise untreatable PTSD with psilocybin right now, in the US alonesucks that you drew the short stick but you probably mixed it with benzos and had a psychosis beforehand so shut the fuck up about it schizo
>just fucking shock yourself out of being an angry loser faggot with psilocybin, anonyou might just add more mental trauma onto it. I really would not suggest this unless you have a support system that you actually trust in the first place, and that is 90% of the work that a psilocybin trip does - shedding the ego to test that trust is the other 10%.Basically, people this fucking depressed shouldn't touch the stuff>>34873977>sucks for youI'm a testimony to what can and does go wrong. >probably mixed it with benzos and were psychotic beforehandI approached it as scientifically as I could while being depressed. I told you I lemon tek'd it. I took nothing else. It's a HALLUCINOGENIC, you're treating it like it's aspirin for severe trauma
>>34873986yes yes you are a testimony that its not flawless, but the other 91% of people who took it had tremendously positive results.and you must have definitely done something because you clearly have brain damage now
I like that arguing over psilocybin being a magic bullet defeats this anon's campaign instantly. They get irate and defensive over it treating other vets who get their PTSD treatments subsidized by insurance, and can therefore afford what some hiptarded Oregon clinic will treat them with. These vets have specific instances they can point to to reprocess, like their squad buddy stepping on a mine. What are these /adv/ goons going to point to?I thought it was MDMA and ketamine making those advances with veterans anyway. Psilocybin was yesterday's idea.>>34873997>>34873370>91%>you can still do it aloneYou said 90% yesterday. What new success story came out today in PubMed, faggot?
your argument against literal fucking scientific evidence is your own fucking sobstory that you already told us 5 times already.and now you are being pendantic. bitch seek fucking help
>>34874013what help should I seek? 5.5g of lemon tek?
i must be the first person on earth to have ever had a bad trip
>>34874013The idea that you can fix your mental problems with drugs is entirely unscientific from the outside. Mental problems have mental causes. Meaning if you're depressed, it's your own fault. You can't fix your depression until you fix what's wrong with your attitude. Any amount of leaning on something external, whether it be drugs, money, relationships, pleasure, food, or praise, is just an attempt to avoid doing the hard work yourself. Tripping on psychedelics won't fix problems that require rational solutions, because being high disengages the rational mind rather than engaging it.
>>34872792The people in your life are wrong. They don't know anything about the seriousness of this topic, and they don't seem interested in it, either. Get professional help from a professional therapist. There is no other way. Therapists and psychiatrists are not the same thing. The only way to get SSRIs is from a psychiatrist. Find someone who is a therapist, and not a pill pusher. Licensed psychotherapists have to go to school for like 7 years.
>>34874017no, a therapist for your unresolved mental health issues and a neurologist for your unresolved brain damage>>34874044then why does the US prescribe anti depressants (DRUGS) at record numbers? retard. you sound autsitic as fuck.and you clearly dont know how psilocybin trips work.but they work. which is why its getting slowly approved as a treatment officially.
>>34874058>then why does the US prescribe anti depressants (DRUGS) at record numbers? To make money off of desperate people by selling them on the false promises of a quick fix.>but they work.Evidently not, based on your personality. You aren't a reformed man. There's nothing good, true or happy in you.
>>34874058yeah, depression. neurologist might actually pinpoint what's happening in my frontal lobe as well. thanks for the useful suggestion, dickhead! maybe i'll pursue that if i can get insured.>>34874066>there's nothing good, true, or happy in youwhich is why I'm confused as to why they're pushing psychedelics, which I associate with 60s free love laidback hippie mind exploration by default. nothing wrong with that, their personality is the polar opposite though.
>>34874066I never took psilocybin but I am aware of the science surrounding them. >you arent this and thatvery grand coming from your faggot retard ass trying to refute scientific data with your own miserable experience.
>>34874076>which is why I'm confused as to why they're pushing psychedelics, which I associate with 60s free love laidback hippie mind exploration by default. nothing wrong with that, their personality is the polar opposite though.thats such outdated thinking.do you not realize that psycheledics are literally on the forefront of experimental treatments?and anyway, it was just a suggestion. you should start with exercise.inb4 the retard tells us how bad shrooms are because they didnt work for him for the 11th time
>>34874079>I never took psilocybinopinion discarded. You've never experienced it yet you're pushing it like aspirin. Take 5 grams of lemon tek shrooms (and grab someone you can trust shitting and puking yourself in front of, if it's so easy for you to do) and come back to this thread. I give it a 90-91% you won't be saying the same thing.
>>34874083>do you not realize that psycheledics are literally on the forefront of experimental treatments?Did I just not fucking talk about MDMA and Ketamine here?>>34874009 >I thought it was MDMA and ketamine making those advances with veterans anyway. Psilocybin was yesterday's idea.sputtering retard over here
>>34874085no need, first of all im already medicated and secondly the FUCKING DATA is literally on my side.
>>34874079>I never took psilocybinThen it would be wise to leave the advice to people who have first-hand experience. When everything you think you know was handed down to you by vague notions that you can't describe as anything other than "the science", that means you're operating purely off of blind trust. Your mentality is currently no different from that of the people who think that children should be put on hormone blockers and given genital mutilation surgeries. They have no understanding of what happiness is, nor any genuine ideas on how to get there, they simply believe whatever it is that authorities tell them to believe.
>>34874093the problem is not that you had a bad experience the fucking problem is that you want to refute the 91% of people in a CLINICAL TRIAL who did have a good experience based on that. do you not fucking get how retarded that is?just stfu already you autistic sperg
>>34872798it's TRE I think, there is a move where you lay on the ground legs up, and shaking can release tension from a muscle that you can't do externally. only thing i got was a pain in my knees so i stopped but there are videos about it on youtube>>34872792i wouldnt say i got over it, i just got into deep apathy, anhedonia whatever you want to call it. in this case, even if the past or future comes up, it might ruin my mood for a while but it will also quickly pass on and i return to not caring. this obviously comes at a price of only existing, not living. i guess my grey matter got tired of reliving failures and missing being a happy childdrugs, doing drugs and all only works if you are a chad lite, a non white or past the point of no return anyway. lil melvin going to the hood for "p-psych-psylocibin please" will only get you further laughed at and robbed.
>>34874101like, itd be fine if you said "you can try but I personally had a terrible experience so be wary of the risk" but instead you want to say its the worst thing in the world WHEN IT HAS A 91% SUCCESS RATE
>>34874089Take the medicine you are literally pushing onto OP and report back.>>34873370>My First Heroic Mushroom Dose Trip Report | 5.5g w/ Lemon TekDon't go any lower than 5.5g, faggot.>>34874101Refute the clinical trial, because maybe 0.001% of the world's population has access to the same resources that clinical trial you keep citing has. What /adv/ anon is going to run into a trip sitter on the street? What /adv/ anon has a soothing environment to wander around in for six to eight hours? What /adv/ anon is going to have a friend or relative understanding enough to accompany them for six to eight hours of tripping? Trust me, no one has the discipline to keep the eye mask and headphones on while being stimulated by one of the most powerful substances the human mind can tolerate.Sure, this treatment is great for the insured war veterans who are so checked out of reality they'll do anything, and the Portland yuppies who want to try the next mental health trend. It's bad for the 99% who can't fucking afford it.
>>34874101I've never had a bad experience with psychedelics. My experience has been in successfully overcoming depression, anxiety and trauma through rational introspection. From what I've learned, I can confidently say and without a single shred of doubt, that no man ever becomes happy until he becomes wise. There's no such thing as a shortcut to good mental health, because the degree to which you aren't actually improving your outlook and attitude is the degree to which you aren't actually happy.
>>34874110yeah never mind the thousands of people who trip without a sitteralso I literally said it was a suggestion and to exercise, you just want to push that its not an option at all when it literally is. shut the fuck up
>>34874114>never mind the thousands of people who trip without a sitterand have bad trips because there is no guidance and interpretation to what they are internally experiencing? You can't read, either>you just want to push that its not an option at all when it literally is.it's a viable option if you can emulate clinical trial settings, and even then it is a 1 in 10 chance it fails, according to you.My question is, what anon here has the resources and people to emulate the clinical trial setting?
>>34874110>because maybe 0.001% of the world's population has access to the same resources that clinical trial you keep citing has.moot point. you can literally find thousands of trip reports on the internet of people from all sorts of backgrounds reporting positive changes. many without a trip sitter at all.>>34874112>shortcutif a drug dramatically reduces severe anxiety and depression in the majority of people, it can in fact be considered a shortcut.psilocybin literally rewires your brain.but again, do I need to repeat for the 10th time that I said you should just start exercising rigorously every day?psilocybin is an option. it requires some daring and open mindedness. if you dont have that its okay. but you do have to exercise, get your heart rate up. there is no excuse not to.
>>34874139>if a drug dramatically reduces severe anxiety and depression in the majority of peopleIt doesn't. This is a false assumption you've made on the presupposition that all clinical trials are inherently trustworthy. All of the arguments you're using are the same ones being used by gender ideology advocates to castrate young boys and give mastectomies to young girls. When your only argument is "trust the science people", you don't have an argument, you have a fallacy known as an appeal to an unqualified authority.
>>34874139Saying that taking heroic doses of psilocybin alone will garner the same results as the clinical trial with 91% success rate you keep citing is completely irresponsible. Do you want to be PubMed or Erowid? Pick a side, retard.>heroic dose or jogging
>>34872792Talk to different people about it til it's processed Talking about it here is one option
I do appreciate the replies.I went to the docs office for the Prozac and I showed up at the wrong time. The appointment was made in EST, not CST so I was an hour late, so to say. I showed up early for a 2:20 p.m. CST appointment, but the actual appointment would have been 1:20 p.m. because the appointment was made using EST.what the actual fuck. That's a new one. Always an adventure.I tried some TRE before, but all I do is shake and I'm still the same during and after. no emotions. nothing. still just an idiot trying to shake.>>34873986> Basically, people this fucking depressed shouldn't touch the stuffI'm not going to do the mushrooms, but I will eat some thc gummies.>>34874009>MDMA and ketamine making those advances with veteransI've heard of some good stuff regarding that, but I don't think my insurance will cover it. Its not like I'm rich. >>34874044people have had sudden and profound spiritual awakenings that changed them. Eckhart Tolle talks about his experience in his book. There's a lot of people that have had these spiritual awakenings. You don't hear about them. Its not like they are going to make the news cycle for having a spiritual awakening. That's what they need. A special 12-minute segment during each hour-long news show, about people talking about the spiritual awakenings that they've had..
>>34874145hmmm, gee I wonder whom I should trust, some disgruntled loser on 4chan or a clinical trial involving literally over 300 people and hundreds if not thousands of individual reports online?>>34874941heard terrible things about prozac but enjoy your gummies
>>34875422you're treating this one bad trip report like it's the only one in history. OP's already decided on a significantly less risky medicine route, which you are throwing in the bin for a drug you've never experienced. >heard terrible things about prozac>never about psilocybin though!you're also posting in a thread about getting over trauma while disregarding the additional trauma someone experienced firsthand implementing your solution, down to lemon tek extraction. you can't face evidence to the contrary when it's talking to you.
>>34875422>hmmm, gee I wonder whom I should trustNobody. You should think critically and independently. Your issue is that you've never learned how to think, so instead you've blindly adopted a dogmatic position based on nothing but a fallacy. You're in no position to give anybody advice on any subject, because you aren't even your own man yet.
