Is it a red flag if you live in an apartment and you can hear your neighbor on their phone with their buddy loudly complaining about things they don't like other neighbors in the building doing?

Having this conversation in an open area where any other person living in the building can hear them?

Major red flag. In the worst scenario, very low quality building construction with no soundproofing could mean you live in the US, in which case you'd be really fucked.

That's exactly my situation, yes.

Gossiping and badmouthing other neighbors out in the open has got to be a red flag of some sort, right? Isn't that shit behavior? I mean what happens when they start talking about you?
>>
>>34873047
How the fuck can you even live with neighbors that harbor such contempt at every benign and trivial thing you do that also have the gall to complain about them loudly in a phone conversation that they know anyone can hear?
>>
>red flag
About what? If my neighbor was doing that I would put on a black metal record or practice electric guitar.
>>34872921
The buildings Ive lived in with the worst soundproofing were Victorian homes redone as apartments for college students with shitty drywall partitioning the areas. Also living in America isnt fucked you are being dramatic.

Dude, I'm fucking living in an apartment building right now that was built in 1905, and it has such dog shit sound proofing that I can hear my neighbors taking a piss in the morning.
It's also in a ghetto neighborhood and the landlord accepts Section 8. The font door literally has a hole in it. The floor creeks when you walk on it. And the music is so fucking annoying.

That's great. The best way to fight a negative situation is to bring even more negativity into it.

Yea I would definitely not date that neighbor, try the next one

It sucks dude ive been there, cant do anything other than get used to it and wear headphones often. Im lucky my current apartment has thick walls I just hear a crying baby sometimes.

Red Flag is a term for traits that suggest a person would be bad in a relationship. Are you trying to fuck your neighbor? If not, who cares what he is bitching about. I misread the post I didn't know you heard it from a common area, stop being neurotic and caring what random people think.
>>34873110
This is the most limp wristed passive post ive ever read. Listening and playing to music to cover your neighbors sounds is not negative, it is called existing.

>Listening and playing to music to cover your neighbors sounds is not negative, it is called existing.
Then that is a miserable and shit state of existence. I would rather kill myself than live in such a situation.

You'd rather kill yourself than block out a neighbors noise? You must be part of the 41%
>>
Stop writing 'They.' Everyone automatically hates you BEFORE understanding whatever the hell you wrote (which we then will not read). You're self-selecting faggotry bias for any answers.
>>
>>34873047
No, it's a benefit. Your neighbor is a common braggart who mouths off their displeasures at every turn, and you can absolutely use that to your advantage. You know how people say to shut the fuck up and be polite, or if you don't have anything nice to say, shut the fuck up and don't say anything at all? That person is completely, utterly fucking incapable of doing that. It completely erodes the mystery of who does anything bad around the complex, they turn themselves into the community's scapegoat, provided you are clever enough to turn the entire community against them, you could bully them out of the complex.
>>
>>34873224
No, I just don't put myself in situations where instead of peace and quiet, I am instead forced to listen to noise in order to cancel out other noise
generated by another annoying human being. And I certainly would never choose to live in an apartment where that is the case all of the time.
>>
>>34873249
>you could bully them out of the complex
I was hoping they got fed up of the place and just moved out, but month after month, they just keep staying.

Dude this young retarded chick just moved into a 1 room apartment above mine and her water goes through my hallway so I hear whenever she flushes, does the dishes etc.

Which would be annoying on its own but she has her fucking family/bf over for sleepovers all the time so they're like 3-4 jeets packed into 35sqm and the toilet constantly fucking flushes

Wall2wall neighbours are renovating the apartment they bought on auction, doing it themselves to save money (they lived in the one next door prior). Cant blame them for tryna save money but it's going on 1 year now and they only work on early weekend mornings...

And this is exactly why I dream of owning a home on a five acre (minimum!) plot of land. I am sick and tired of living next to people.
