I’m a 24 year old college freshman for CS around NYS looking to find work as a programmer for the government/defense. Do this board have advice?Please tell me your background if so.

>>34874504Don't smoke weed (for your security clearance) and keep your GPA up (govt contracts often have 3.0-3.5 requirements baked in).Or at least, make sure nobody your investigator could feasibly end up calling (friends-of-friends) would spill the beans about you smoking weed.Do as much networking/internships/projects as you can since those just boost your job options in general.I got in without any internships/networking because the manager liked the cut of my jib during the phone interview, but lacking those things made me stack up about a hundred rejections before getting hired>t. software engineer for a defense contractor, hired out of college
