I am 22 and I started an apprenticeship as a sysadmin in a huge company. I have always had interests in computers since I was a little child, but it’s been one month since I started working there and I’m realizing that I’m not made for the corpo life. I had my final talk in the department I work in before I move to the next one. During it I had to evaluate myself and all kinds of bullshit, which feels like torture for my autismo ADHD ass. Then the leader of the team decided to flame me over the smallest things, even the HR lady was telling him that he’s too harsh on his feedback considering I’m new. I’m already depressed and this doesn’t help it at all, I hate the possibility of being stuck here for the next 3 years, let alone the rest of my life. I’m also sick and I’m worried that they might fire me because I’m still in the probationary period. I have to pay rent somehow with the measly 700€ I get paid and living with parents is not something I can deal with. I have also been realizing that I wanna make art and music and earn my living that way, but my skills are not very good and I keep procrastinating because of ADHD. So is there a way to make my life better or should I rope?
>>34875437yeah. medication, silly.or other means adhders use to cope with low dopamine, like extreme sports or rigorous exercise.
are you actually diagnosed as adhd?
>>34875463I’m on Medikinet 10mg but it’s not doing shit, I have an appointment soon to evaluate the results since I only recently started getting treatment.
>>34875474well then you are on your best way.tried dosing 20 or 30mg yet?from what I read elvanse actually improves your motivation better than medikinet.
>>34875466Twice actually, first time the doctor could only diagnose me, but couldn’t treat me since they didn’t take in any new patients. Then my GP started prescribing me Methylphenidate 18mg which also didn’t do shit and he said I need a second diagnosis so I could get prescribed other stuff. So months later I found a psychiatrist who diagnosed me and is treating me but it’s like an hour with the train to go there.
>>34875484I hope so, because every day feels like hell. Once I’m on medication that works for me, would I also be able to practice on my art and music skills more easily?
>>34875499from my limited experience, 30mg of medikinet makes me clean my place like a professional but I still need to avoid distraction from my computah.so I would assume that effect would translate to anything else you'd set your mind to, like improving your art skills.so long as you put yourself into a room next to your art utensils and just start.
so in short, yes of course it will, but its no easy fix tape. you still need to actively do things, create good conditions to function.
>>34875504>>34875516I see, well I hope for the best. I just want life to be good man :/
