I’ve just started my first online college semester, and even after just the first week, I can already feel that something is wrong. Wrong, as it usually is in any circumstance where I have to learn: I lack motivation, rely on the internet/AI to handle things because I’m too intimidated by lengthy chapters, and get a headache when I stare at the computer screen for too long. I’m admittedly a privileged brat who is only in college because my financially well-off family pays for it, and I’m only allowed to live at their house as long as I’m in education. I’m in a beginner Spanish class, and I already had to rush to do the assignments today before they’re due tomorrow, looking things up online because I didn’t bother to actually read over the week and memorize things. Now I feel like I’m already completely doomed.This is all likely just my retarded disabilities from holding the golden trio of ADHD, autism, and ADHD, as well as general depression tendencies. But I still feel so useless.

I don't think this is a course which you could coast through.If you are as privileged as you say, I recommend getting yourself professionally diagnosed to find out whether you're neurodivergent. It's not that expensive. Neurotypical people get communications degrees usually because it's easy. But for a neurodivergent person this is going to be a HARD course. A communications degree is good if you don't work too hard for it. But if you have to suffer then you might as well go for something: A) more interesting, B) better paying. Finally:DO NOT LISTEN TO PEOPLE TELLING YOU TO SKIP COLLEGE. IGNORE THEM. THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEYRE TALKING ABOUT. Having a higher education makes your life easier. There's no reason not to have one if your parents are paying. It's only 3-5 years, and it sets you up for higher living standards for the entire rest of your life. Even if you take a gap year because you change courses and start anew, and study 5-7 years instead of 3-5, - it's still worth it. Even if you do fucking Uruguayan futamari studies - you still get to tick the "higher education" box on your future job applications. For the love of god do not drop out college if you can afford to go. Do not burden yourself at the behest of these morons.

My girlfriend always says I’m more social than she is and scoffs when I say I’m really bad at talking to people, though. And, yeah. I don’t really see the point in quitting when it’s being paid for.
