What should I do if I am having a mental health crisis, but I don't want to talk to a crisis team ever again? I am having fatal thoughts of suicide. I'm supposed to care about getting an apartment, but I would rather buy a gun and shoot myself. I really don't have any unfinished business. Can I leave my group home and aquire a firearm to shoot myself? How would I do this without having gun rights? I will *not* go back to the mental hospital ever again I hate that place.

>>34877254I can't leave my group home. I want to kill myself man.
>>34877121>I am having a mental health crisis. I am having fatal thoughts of suicide. This is a very serious situation, that should be handled by educated and trained professionals, not random gooner fuckwits on an outdated anonymous imageboard.>I don't want to talk to a crisis team>I will *not* go back to the mental hospital>Can I leave my group homeYou don't want to harm yourself, you want help. But in order to recieve help, you must accept help.No solution is seamless and perfect when it comes to mental health care, it's a sustained effort at times. For now, try to calm yourself as best as possible: breathing exercises, have a smoke (cigarette), have a relaxed and casual conversation with someone. Then be willing to recieve help.
>>34877558There is an important difference between *wanting* to kill yourself and being likely to do it. If you can clearly, honestly explain to a competent doctor (like an actual M.D.) that you are strong and disciplined enough that you absolutely will not kill yourself, you should not end up in a psych ward. You might need to explain why you won't do it. Have more than one excuse ready--religious belief, too guilty to give up after people have helped you, its stupid to do something so permanent, don't want to hurt the people around you, giving yourself X more years before you pull the trigger, not going to act on something that's clearly just a neurotransmitter imbalance, etc.And once you find a doctor competent enough to understand that, you absolutely should tell him/her that you feel so shitty that you are plagued by suicidal ideation. What I say to my psychiatrist is, "to be absolutely clear, I am *not* at any risk of self-harm, but as a diagnostic criterion, yes, score me as having frequent suicidal thoughts." Then you absolutely should pursue all the suggested treatments. Many of them are awful, but they are not nearly as bad as what you are going through now.
