How to be a volcel and self improve? Specifically what are steps that can help become more independent and be more confident in myself. I am back in the gym.
A volcel is a person who chooses to stay single and avoid sex on purpose. The word is a short form of voluntarily celibate. It is the opposite of an incel, which means someone who is involuntarily celibate and cannot find a partner
>>34900340Yes I know that. I'm going volcel because I need to stop being defined by being someones man and just be a good person.
>>34900450so have you defined FOR YOURSELF what a "good person" is?figure that out and work towards it.>back in gymgood start, but vary up your exercise and try new things, go downhill biking, trail running(multi-day with pack), take up rock climbing, go jump on a skateboard. do things outside your usual experience, venture outside the comfort zone a little and build some confidence.set goalsmeet goalsrepeat
>>34901837>so have you defined FOR YOURSELF what a "good person" is?So for now what I'm focusing on is net good. Taking actions that make me feel like I'm pushing the rock a little bit and helping myself and others. I'm still being very low effort but it's just a start.I have felt a lot of anxiety and guilt during these days.>do things outside your usual experience, venture outside the comfort zone a little and build some confidence.I really wanted to start wall climbing but I'll wait a little bit for that for money reasons. I'm trying to get back into the church and do a little volunteer work once in a while. Also I should get back to studying and hobbymaxxing.I realized how hard it is to balance going out with people, I think I need to try and have a little bit less social interaction because I'm not being very productive yet I'm super tired.
>volcel>selfimprove>maxxxxingunironically quit social media and imageboards and never come back, they have rotted your brain
become like a monk
I would look to be sure that your pyramid of needs are met
>>34905777Hitting the gym is a good suggestion but it was never enough for me. Its a 2d pursuit where you get results with 0 entertainment unless you want to just check the boxes of fulfilling a goal. For me I go to the woods and hike because I get enjoyment out of the solitude of a forest. If youre wanting to rock climb for example it would provide a benefit to you have other people to do it with. I find people are the greatest motivation so id look up if there's any rock climbing clubs or other type of events where you can share your interests with others. The motivation will come to return each week with them.It sounds like youre already taking a lot of steps in the right direction, but youre still not fulfilling the satisfaction of why you are there.Definitely try volunteering if it hooks you up with other people.Im very much an introvert and I built my entire life to avoid people. I work a very solitary job and still came to the conclusion about people being the motivator. This is why online addiction is a poison. Even monks live in a monastery with other monks. The monk that goes to the cave to live alone goes crazy. People I meet that stayed alone their entire lives ended up becoming self absorbed to where they were hard to be around.
