So all my frens and I are in our late twenties. Most of us are broke and we're still in our hometown still after high school. Anyways while some of us have an apartment or house to rent. A few of us live at home due to lack of roommate opportunities and early stages of dating. We don't go to clubs or bars really, we all seem to enjoy going out to the woods to drink, smoke, and or have a fire. Most of us have trucks with decent capability. But I've floated the idea of building an outpost or chill bushcraft kind of spot. What all would you setup at the spot?

>>34901133obviously a campfire ring and tools to cook. chairs.id bring in some activities: cornhole, horse shoes. they sound gay but its a great way to carry on a conversation with something else to do. also used to bring a projector. As long as you have the right material or wall you can project off ita shed or something to store the items wouldnt hurt either. or just try to build a cabin there with them.

It’ll be more satisfying and also it would become a shitty chore to be constantly repairing everything>choose the land very carefully. You don’t want to get bothered or have your hard work torn down on a Friday afternoon an hour before you guys had plans>build it so everything is easy to clean. You’re a bunch of dudes so don’t have areas for trash or other shit to pile up. You don’t want to look like a homeless camp>bug control like others have said>you could set up little projects out there like building toad habitats or using beetle traps to try to find rare beetles for your area so designate some more space in the area than your main perimeter for future ideas>something very simple but well built will be better over time than something complicated but imperfect>try to avoid the use of tarps because that’s exactly the thing that makes you immediately look like a homeless campA couple friends and I did something very similar in our early 20s. >>34903208Thought about it a little longer and here’s some more>look for multiple sets of trees close enough together to string a hammock. You’ll probably want to do “hammock city” eventually. They’re easy to pack in and out too.>moving water source within easy walking distance. Not still water because mosquitoes and smell but somewhere you can collect and use water for fire control/projects>don’t drive right up to it in trucks. Sometimes other people look for places to explore with satellite maps and you’d be making tire track arrows right to your spot>ticker horizontal branches within reach make for good places to hang stuff while you’re out there>don’t plan to just clear poison ivy and nettles to make/keep a spot. Pick a spot where they don’t naturally grow so abundantly because you will never defeat nature on that one>pay attention to the trees themselves. Having fruit trees around is nice but having your shit under a mulberry tree is a terrible idea. Being beneath walnut trees also significantly sucks during part of the season
