I've had a VERY stiff neck for the past 2? months now, to the point I can barely turn to the sides or look behind my shoulders, even sleeping is extremely painful to the point I won't get any sleep or even wake up from itWhat the fuck do I do? Heat pads and pray for the best? 30yo male for what it's worth
Had something like this for a bit after I got hit in the face, think the whiplash fucked up my neck a bit.To make it go away I bought a cervical neck pillow off Amazon for sleeping at night and used hot then cold (you want to cycle between both) pads on the area until it got better. I also did basically nothing at home for a couple days, just focused on healing my neck and keeping it as still as possible. It went away after I did the above. That being said though you should probably go to a doctor first or in addition to home care, it sounds like yours might be more severe than what I went through.
>>34902039contd.Or you should go to physio, if the doctor can't figure it out.
>>34902004NIGGA GO TO THE HOSPITAL NIGGA. YOU GOT MENINGITIS NIGGA.
>>34902039>cervical neck pillowProbably worth mentioning, I sleep on my stomach, if I lie on my back or sleep sideways there's no pain (though, if I sleep on my back I regularly get sleep paralysis)>>34902098Is it though? It's the only symptom I have
>>34902121Oh also my work has me stand up for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, and even on my days off I have to actually work to make preps for the other days though I can at least sit down
You've had a stiff dick beating it to images like the OP image, you chomo fuck.
Go to the damn doctor, you fucking retard. First thing I think of is bulging discs. Anti-inflammatories and physical therapy along with a half-dozen selected stretching exercises are easy enough to solve most of that if so. Disc damage, OTOH is more involved but don't necessarily need surgical intervention. Tendenitis and other organic issues all have their own treatments. Point being, quit being a shitbag and go get seen. If you are at the point where something degenerative is starting, early intervention ALWAYS means less dramatic treatment and better results. I've got 2 bulging discs. Had them for years. Did therapy/ antiinflammatories, now I do 5 minutes of daily stretching. Daily pain went from 6-7 to 1 or sometimes 0.
>>34902189Last times I went to get something checked (painful wrist and back pain) I barely got any actual advice, for my wrist they had me get x-rays which they said the showed nothing abnormal and refused to show me the scans, despite it being fairly evident I have a cyst, while for the back I got told it was muscular and to get some painkillers and a lotion for massages, none of which helpedSo yeah, basically I don't trust this shithole's (UK) sanity
>>34902042This. Physio is the answer. Doctors know drugs, physio knows muscle science, retarded as that sounds.>t. doctor
>>34902004Atlas bone is misaligned. Good luck finding a chiro who can tap it back into place instead of fucking you up worse with ringdingers and such, lol.
>>34902098If it's meningitis then his spinal sheath will be rigid too, which he can test by getting on his back (or even just sitting on floor, bending his knees, then trying to raise his feet and his head at the same time like a jacknife/curl. If there's pain all the way down his spine and he can't crunch like that, it's meningitis or something similar.
>>34902121Yah you should probably stop stomach sleeping. I think it's recommended by a lot of physiotherapists to not do that, here's a video that explains it:https://youtu.be/a2y4_eOOn_Y
>>34902361It's either sleeping like that or having sleep paralysis, so not really an option
>>34902372Do you know why you get sleep paralysis?
>>34902473No idea, back when I was a kid I used to get it nearly every other night, then ever since I started sleeping on my stomach, around 15? years ago, it completely stopped
>>34902478Man it really seems like you should get that investigated. Have you ever been to a physiotherapist before? If you've been to a doctor and they've kind of dismissed you, have you tried for a second opinion?
>>34902496I used to go regularly every year as my basket team wanted everyone to get checked to have them play, but the last time was almost 12 years ago, before I moved to the UK from Italy and stopped playingWonder if the sleep paralysis thing could be linked with mental issues, since depression, alzheimer's and schizophrenia are fairly common within my relatives
>>34902502It's hard to say, there's a good chance it's unrelated and just how your body manages sleep maybe. At any rate it'd make sense to avoid stomach sleeping and switching to different types of side sleeping, at least for now to see if it helps. I think for the cervical pillows they work for side sleeping too, they basically help keep the neck relaxed and still. And then to book an appointment with a physiotherapist or doctor for this exact issue. For the physio they could probably recommend more sleeping positions you can try that would help avoid neck strain. And yah if it really is meningitis, maybe an ER. The worrying thing is that the issue has lasted for a bit.
>>34902004Neck pain is a natural consequence of loli-posting. that said, heat-pads and prayer might work if you haven't tried already. change/fix the pillow different sleeping/lying on the floor might exacerbate it. hot or cold showering. I tried a cheap massage gun and a 100$ beurer one
