I am seeking general advice on how to stop dopamine spamming and develop discipline.
Have perspective. The most underrated piece of advice I have ever gotten.

>If you seek your eternal sunshine, you must first look inside yourself>If your mind is clouded, you'll never see what lies in front of you>These ties were always fake>Put together to make you feel safe>It's your armor that's choking>How protected do you really feel?>The path that you've chosen will leave you with nothing>It's your dying thoughts that will fail you>The only redemption discard everything you were>It's your waking thoughts that will save you>The only redemption remake everything you are>how many steps away do you think you could possibly be?>You’re in control of who you wanna be!>this will never be the same again>things will never be the same again>you will never be the same again>how could you ever be?

>>34902179I'm looking for the answer too.Looking back at my past, I just got up one day, was tired of the situation, and did something to change it. Before some time passed or something happened that made me go back indoors Rinse and repeat 30 years, barely any progress
>>34902179Add barriers to whatever is holdong you, I use an extension that blocks a lot of websites on both my phone and computer. It helps a bit, I blocked some boards but ended migrating to other boards like /adv/, now I'll block the whole website, goodbye anons

>>34902333Black dark room it is for me. Stops you from falling into dopamine traps so easily. Now even work seems fun when in the room
put your running shoes on, go outside and run til exhaustion (no music / podcast)walk home then sit on your sofa doing nothing, enjoying the endorphinsrepeat til addicted
Dose towards later in the day, never mornings or even mid day. Train your brain like this to understand that first half of the day is for work, and after that comes fun.On the first half of the day you just, study or work. Dopamine comes later. Do that for a while and notice how much easier it is to do productive stuff like this when comparing it to the time when you dosed every now and then. No YouTube while eating breakfast or on breaks. (Probably) No music while walking, riding or driving. Stuff like that. >But i'm wasting my time doing nothing! Price of being productive, it's either that or feeling miserable at the end of the day cause you wanted to get something done today but your brain fought you on it.You can later theoretically experiment on dosign earlier and stuff like music in certain situations but you have to be extremely careful and AWARE of what you are doing.Think of it like sugar. It's nice to have every now and then, it "makes everything taste better in a cheap kind of way" but your biology isn't okay with consuming it in the way a lot of people do it, like in America where they put that stuff in everything.
>>34902179Delay gratification. Tell yourself you can only do (X thing you want to do) after you (Y thing you should be doing). It hits a lot harder than instant gratification.
>>34909616This has been my go to strat. Even the the small things like a coffe. Also David Big dick Goggins has some inspirational shit. Stay hard or go home.
>>34905814Go to your local Starbucks or millennial burger restaurant and ask for a fresh plate or cup of perspective.Should do the trick.
>>34909185This is the way, it’s called dopamine loading
I was patient and disciplined but it was because I had goals dreams and hope and thought if i work hard i could achieve them and get better. I would literally lock my computer with a timed program I taught myself to make before AI could do that and do some jumping jack/pushups/planks every hour. I had a daily regime and todo list to follow. All thats gone now nothing ever came of it or mattered so im just typing with one hand gooning all days that i dont have my shitty retail job why not the worlds ending soon. Why do i even still go to work really, i never make money i get to keep. Even if i somehow could get a gf and support her girls are worse than ever now, i dont think i can ever love them again i just want to get laid, but without resorting to hooker. I'm 37 and broke its over even without the world end.
>>34902179what specifically do you want to do and what specifically do you want not to do I have a stopwatch in front of me right now posting on this imageboard, the conscientiousness of the time i am wasting the awareness alone gives more control, like how i was going to do some french but got distracted and ended up here now im going to go back to it
