I have treatment resistant depression, therapy does nothing, neither does medication. My insurance doesn't exist until I get hit by a bus. Do I just "it is what it is" until I swallow a bullet? I get that life is supposed to be shit for the majority of us so that it's good for everyone else, but should it be like this?
>>
There is no 'should' in life, that's just a misalignment between expectations and reality. There's only what is, now. You got dealt your hand, a clearly shitty one, and you do what you can to lead a life of whatever quality until it's over by whatever means. You decide.

I literally have zero options to build up a better life. I know getting my GED will benefit me slightly but I get the time to do the test. I work 8-12 hours a day 7 days a week. I have zero pto and if I call in, they push to fire me. I'm autistic ie retarded so there aren't many places that will hire me.
>>
>>34903291
That's a shitty situation anon. A GED would definitely help and you need more free time to do shit you like or else your depression is going to eat you alive. I don't know how entrenched you are in that situation but it sounds like it's a self-serving situation you can't/won't leave without a forcing factor.

I was in such a deep depression I was in a standoff with police and was committed to a psychiatric hospital for awhile. I dug myself out of the depression by simply forcing myself to do the things I know I needed to do. I didn’t want to do them, but I did them anyway. I embraced the suck.

I forgot to say, sometimes you have to hit a really a hard rock bottom to feel free enough to make radical life changes that will ultimately get you out of a shitty locked in life. Now knowing that, do you think you really have to hit the hard rock bottom with disastrous consequences before making the radical life changes? Or can you just do it anyway? I’m talking stuff like accepting being homeless for awhile to get out of a shitty relationship where you’re financially dependent on the person? I’m talking moving away from toxic people and starting brand new. It’s possible. America is full of opportunity and life can be better. Despite all the blackpills out there about CEOs and wage gaps and shit you actually can come from nothing and build a pretty decent life in America if you try.

I'm already homeless. I live in a motel room. I have been ever since my mom kicked me out, forcing me to drop out of school.

I know my employer is taking advantage of the fact I have zero options at this point. Not even Wal-mart will hire a person without a GED, especially if they are a retard like me. If i lose this job, I am fucked so hard I may as well commit a crime so that I get sent to prison. 3 hots and a cot.

3 hots and a cot surrounded by the mentally illest of society. I've been psych hospitalized - fuck no that sounds gay as fuck I'd rather be homeless

Your depression isn't what's resisting improvement, you are. There's no such thing as a set of circumstances that can make a person miserable, it's the person himself who chooses to be miserable. There have been people who had it far worse than yourself who never lost sight of their reasons for optimism. You just need to cultivate those reasons, so that you have a light to guide you in the darkness. But the key is accountability. Never blame anyone or anything else other than yourself. Your happiness begins and ends with you, nothing can prevent you from becoming happy if you have the will and nothing can force you to become happy if you lack the right attitude.

This is the reason I always tell kids to stay in school and get the high school diploma. It gets so much more fucking difficult to get a GED once you have life responsibilities like a job. I work a professional white collar job, they require me to do personal development, to study, and even with the time they give us it feels like pushing a boulder up the side of a slippery hill.

I'm sorry, but you have to make time, you have to fight and negotiate for what you deserve and need to succeeed. There isn't much of any other way out.

Maybe being homeless and working in the system might actually be beneficial for you, OP. I'm 100% serious. Especially if you life in a blue city. In Denver, we spend billions on the homeless every year on everything from housing them to getting them job training and shit like GEDs. Most of the chronically homeless don't use any of that shit, which means for those who are willing, there's a complete surplus of programs and people sitting on their asses waiting to help somebody.

So I wouldn't commit a crime, I would just quit your job, pawn or sell any major assets you have for cash, and avail yourself to the system.

I didn't even choose to drop out. My mom kicked me out during my senior year because I got accepted into college after she spent my whole life telling me that I was too stupid to go to school, and that when I turned 16, I was dropping out and getting a job. A few teachers convinced her to let me graduate but getting accepted into college was too far. She opened my acceptance letter and then emptied my room, burned everything but my clothes, which she put in leaf bags. She waited on the porch with her rifle and said to find some place else to live since I was too good to obey. If I showed up again, she would shoot me for trespassing.

I couldn't find someone to at least let me stay with them until I finished high school, not even a teacher. My dad wanted nothing to do with me, he was already remarried and had the kid he wanted. So I biked two states over and lived on a free camp spot and found a job stripping wire hoping it would be temporary.

Sounds like getting back to school is a new life goal for you anon. Colleges love stories like these. Getting your GED and a degree might help a lot with your situation and pride in life. So, to answer your question about "Do I just 'it is what it is' until you swallow a bullet?" yes without a goal, no with one

I just need to do it while keeping my job. I am job hunting, but it's not going well.

>I have treatment resistant depression, therapy does nothing, neither does medication.
Congratulations! You have discovered all on your own that medication does not solve any of your underlying life problems. You can now start thinking how to approach and start solving them.

Don't treat the depression. Something is majorly wrong with your life.
>shit for the majority of us so that it's good for everyone else
Start here
>My mom kicked me out during my senior year because I got accepted into college
>My dad wanted nothing to do with me, he was already remarried and had the kid he wanted
You got any other family to beg?

Update: my bike was stolen and I was late to work this morning by 20 minutes. I was yelled at for being late, and given 3 weeks to secure a car. I told him I don't make enough to do that, Boomer McBoomer plant manager said that he bought a new mustang working part time on minimum wage when he was a teen so there is no excuse.

I only make 12 an hour and most of my money goes towards my room in the motel and the Y so I have a clean place to shower. Can't shower in the motel, the water smells like ammonia and if I shower in it, I get sores on my body that really hurt. The rest goes towards bottled water, canned food (pasta and veggies) and disposable plates and utensils.

You dont have "treatment resistant depression." You were just on fake medicine that doesnt work. SSRIs do not work they are a scam.
Have you tried nortriptyline?
>>
>>34906843
Next time he says boomer shit ask him if he wants to run the numbers.
It will cost you a few thousand dollars to buy a shit car.

Don’t get the surgery

Some of this could be shit advice or not. I'm gonna list some possibilities.
-find a roommate or somewhere to couch crash
-look into loans for a beater car
- different job, when i was younger places didn't actually do any background checks, so you could try lying about the GED.
- Look into the shelter situation near you
- look into food and section 8 benefits
either way best of luck friend
