What are some socially acceptable places to go out and try to make friends (and maybe a girlfriend too)? There aren't any hobby places in my city, and the ones that we have are sport stuff (which i can't afford), and the only park in here is only used by runners. I've also considered going to a pub, but thought it would be weird to go by myself. Are there any other options that I haven't considered yet?
>>34903244in my own experience the sole way to get a friend is to get "adopted" by an extrovert at work or school and integrate yourself into their social circle.my sister was in a similar spot and had no friends at all for years. she found her first friend in 5+ years in psych ward (they weren't in there for long or anything) and they're still friends lol.
>>34903764That's awful. I've already been kinda of addopted by an extrovert group, but we don't hang out a lot and wanted to be able to meet more people on my own. Ig spending a week at a psychyard won't hurt
>>34903949i would just "use" (nothing wrong with it) that existing group to meet new people. or be prepared to put your super extrovert larp hat on, generally only very naturally social people can make random friends in 1-on-1 interactions as an adult. so be prepared for it to be like dating i assume, 1 potential friend for every 99 who want nothing to do with you.
