how do you help your partner lose weight? it's my bf and he does intermittedly go to gym, but it doesn't seem to affect or change anything.

he's quite aware of his weight and insecure about it, and talks about losing weight. but to be honest in several years now his weight is still very overweight (not american obese but yeah visibly quite overweight). because he is 100% aware of this and wants to improve, i feel like it would come across as in a very negative way like punching down if i now go and say that i do want to help him actually lose weight. if i was completely 100% honest, i would say, i won't ever leave you over this, but it does affect my attraction and sexual mood at this point and i think he'll start having actual health issues over this in the next 1-10 years.

if i remember right the last time he wasn't overweight in his life was when he was still living at home and biked everywhere. but we live in a place where biking probably isn't as nice as back in his home town, and in a month or so there'll be snow anyway and then biking won't be an option anymore for half the year ( i do know some people even here in very cold countries bike in the winter, but not everyone wants to do that and even i stop biking completely once winter starts). but, for sure after the winter is over, i'll encourage him to buy a better bike since he doesn't like using his shitty current once.

you can't out-exercise a bad diet or a health issue
fix the diet and read about calories-in-calories-out, if that doesn't work see a doctor
>>

>gym, exercise not working

unfortunately the fix is you'll have to tell him to stop eating like a fat fuck

i see. i am aware of calories in calories out ofc. we live together eat all the same things, and it doesn't seem like he overeats. after eating, even if we have the same portion (which i eat fine while still being skinny) he's always full too. the doctor thing i've considered, but then i run into this issue again
>because he is 100% aware of this and wants to improve, i feel like it would come across as in a very negative way like punching down if i now go and say that i do want to help him actually lose weight
and i know i'm complaining but i really don't want to make him even more insecure and make him feel shittier than he already does.
it's also strange since he takes meds (mental health) and he says they take away his ability to feel hunger.

Tell him to eat a keto diet and change his eating habits.

would someone who's already vocally insecure and aware of their weight take that well or seriously

>vocally insecure and aware of their weight
>he isn't fixing it
he wont like to hear it but he needs to stop being lazy and lower the amount of food he consumes. he wont like it, big fellas like to eat, but he must take action and not just whine
>>

you clearly love him
you'll just have to be frank but tactful and loving
you know the difference between "Lose weight you fat fuck" and "Babe, I'm concerned about this and how it affects us"

Probably and Probably not

It's a low IQ problem. Losing weight is the easiest thing in the world as it requires you to do nothing.
You don't have to exercise. You don't even have to go on some fancy diet. All you have to do is to do nothing.
You are in a constant state of losing weight even when you are laying in bed DOING NOTHING. You only gain weight when you are stuffing yourself with food, which requires time, money, preparation, doing the dishes after etc. If you do none of that and you do nothing, you lose weight. Why is it so hard to understand? Fat people are just subhuman.

>partner
Ok fag
If you are a woman, tell him that he needs to lose weight, simple as

Diet is the most important aspect and it needs to be on point but

Are wrong to say "exercise doesn't do anything"
Exercise supercharges your weight loss. Yes, the actual direct calories you burn during a workout are a small fraction of the calories you eat even on a diet, but the "network effects" help you way more than just a calorie deficit would.
Exercising increases your metabolism including your basal metabolic rate, i.e. you burn more calories even while resting if you exercise regularly.
Recovery after exercise also burns calories - look at the "afterburn" effect from doing HIIT cardio.
Fasted cardio is one of the things that actually targets fat rather than more available calorie sources like muscular glycogen. Fasted HIIT cardio will get you lean, doing LISS cardio whenever just burns calories.
If you weightlift then additional muscle mass will increase your basal metabolic rate as well.

Finally, the more time you spend exercising the less time you spend sitting around stuffing your fat fucking face out of boredom, which is why most people compulsively eat. So yeah, get him back on a bike or preferably get him into weightlifting and doing timed runs.

Partner is still a fag word even if women use it.
>What are you, fuckin’ cowboys?
The only thing feminism has ever taught me is that women can be just as big of faggots as men. They might even be better at it, actually.

What were the last three meals you ate together?
