I feel like there's really no reason for me to live anymore. Not even in the sense that I'm actively sad, but more like I see my life as already failed and without any meaningful opportunities to change it.Basically, I spent a year without going outside after graduation, primarily just working on my projects to keep myself occupied. But now it all feels worthless, since I see people making cooler things at a faster pace than me. I don't believe I can find a job in the field I've been interested in since I was a teenager (swe), and my family and friends mostly work in jobs like delivery or other odd jobs.I also always wanted to leave my country because I've been abused here since kindergarten and, overall, things have just been bad. But seeing how countries all over the world are making it increasingly difficult to move, I feel like it's already too late. Even if I start doing something now, I might just end up without any sort of residency and be forced to come back to my home country.I still have maybe 1-2 IRL friends, but I lost my only true friend from here a few years ago to suicide. I feel disconnected from most people who live here because of how different we are, and we basically can't talk about anything. It feels like regular people can't really talk about things outside their usual scope of interests or what they're used to.The situation feels like all I do is pretty much meaningless and hopeless for me, and that I only had one chance to change my situation. Now it feels like it's just too late and borderline impossible. I also spent at least 5 months trying to maybe find some tech savvy people to talk to from chans, and I only found weirdos who started talking about their fetishes after a day of talking, people who have 0 clue and interest in things, but with jobs (still couldn't tell me anything on how to get one, except for "get lucky") and a bunch of larper or try hards who'd bully you if you don't know something
>>34905989>spent at least 5 months trying to maybe find some tech savvy people to talk to from chanshave you tried, you know, alums on linked in at the places you want to work? like people usually do when they want work?
>>34906011I never heard of it, and I think from my post it's obvious that I'm as far from knowing about it as possible. I looked it up though, and I kinda don't understand your point here, since this part of my post was about me trying to find someone to at least socialize and talk about tech stuff
>>34905989do not compare yourself to other people, unless in healthy competition. if you wanna change countries, you can start by looking at what jobs and professions are deficient in there, you can make a course or learn a trade and go. its a lot easier like this. reddit, youtube, discords are unironically better than fuckin chans to look for tech people, why do you waste your time here.
>>34906140Are you sure these sites are better? It seemed like it mostly were attention seekers who would still someone else's work and pretend they made it all by themselves and people who would be into clout chasing, from what I've witnessed at least. It seems like these professions are mostly the same everywhere - engineers, swe (somehow), teachers and healthcare. It's more like I have a pressure that all of this used to easier before and each year this opportunity becomes less and less achievable, especially considering the country of my originI try to not compare myself, but it's kinda hard when I feel like I was constantly looking for ways to end up somewhere in life and doing things, when people who literally were doing almost nothing and never cared about it much, just have a better and easier life than I do now
>>34906160>Are you sure these sites are better?better than the chans, yes. you can enter software engineering or coding threads on reddit and talk to the people and dm them there.>It seems like these professions are mostly the same everywhereyou gotta look further. for example the EU has an oficial list of positions it lacks in the whole continent, and it shows a greater variety of jobs and trades, you can search for this list online in EURES.>when people who literally were doing almost nothing and never cared about it much, just have a better and easier life than I do nowyou dont know what these people really did, perhaps they worked more than you think, or you arent doing as many things as you think.from what country are you from?
>>34906175I kinda did that, and I even remember posting about a thing I made and it got enough attraction and I still see people using and talking about the small piece of software I made back thenIs there really a job that I can pick up without years of degree and money? I'm just an autist who was only dealing with tech related things, so my perspective on that is quite subjectiveI mean, sometimes I don't, but sometimes I do, in fact, know what they did, and I carried some of them through the college, when they paid me to do the homework and projects for themThe country I'm from is Russia
>>34906186>I still see people using and talking about the small piece of software I made back thenthats nice>Is there really a job that I can pick up without years of degree and money?there are, but these are low end jobs like construction or restaurants. in your position, having a degree is better. i dont know how it works in russia, but there are a lot of level 4 or 5 courses and trades you can learn, on the international degrees system. these courses generally take a year, and there are interesting things for you, like informatic techinician or system managements that works with software. by the way, i feel like anything that works with software will be fucked in the future because of AI and jeets. what country you want to go to?>when they paid me to do the homework and projects for themin this case, they were literally more productive than you. they paid for you to do something while they were free porbably doing something else.
>>34906201In Russia I know about some courses for some trades, like welding. But getting a higher education here that is worthy something is literally being gatekeept now and just as expensive as getting one in a foreign country, and in the end you get a diploma that won't be recognizable because Russia uses a different education system since 2022, that most countries just don't recognize.Yeah, I get that, but that's kinda what I've been doing mostly. I can do a bit of soldering, assemble pcs, do some devops, etc, but idk if there's a job where I could go with having a bunch of different skills.I'd want to go to NZ/Australia, because US won't let me enter, and EU seems like they will make my time there more difficult because of the large amount of operations that Russians agencies did and still do thereI get what you mean, but I kinda think that they were a bit retarded, since they were working jobs like waiters or deliveries, despite the fact that they were living with their parents and could, you know, spend their time on the education. I was a poorfag even back then, so I'd never be able to afford to pay someone to do this for me, and it also seemed like most folks who would do that for money, did their job poorly, so some people came to me from them.
>>34906331>In Russia I know about some courses for some trades, like welding.believe it or not these trades are gaining more money and live better than a lot of higher education stuff. You can also take higher ed in another country. If nz or australia is your objective, you can maybe talk to russian comunnities there you can find online, search "russians in (country)" and ask them how they got there and all.
>>34906140>go on reddit/discord to network with tech people.Hahahaha, this is worse advice than the "get a Trade" meme. Oh wait you are also doing the trade meme.>>34905989I am tech savy adjacent. What projects have you worked on.
>>34906449I can believe in that, but it's not really the case in Russia. I'm more curious if I'm going hypothetically finish one of those courses here, how will my interview/hiring process look like, if that's a blue collar job like so? At least with tech I have some kind of idea how this is supposed to look like>>34907820Unfortunately, it's web shit now, just some wasm and canvas stuff I've been working on. I have more ideas, and they aren't web related, but I keep hearing different opinions, like diving into embedded won't help me much, because most jobs related to it are in defense or too specialized for me to pick up, unless I've been into it for a very extended period of time, so for now I just focus on finishing and polishing my current projects, so at least they'll be in a production ready state
