If you dont have it in writing that you're gonna shift to IT though, there is a very real possibility they fuck you over after your seasonal position is up. It happened to me once. Also look for more obscure tech-oriented positions with less entry level competition. IT, SysAdmin, programming is all heavily saturated job markets right now especially for entry level positions. Look for jobs like lab tech and stuff like that where you are still expected to be skilled with technology but doesnt have 10,000 work visa jockeys applying for it. Also consider defense work because they have to hire citizens and cant outsource, plus many defense companies are open to fresh graduates assuming they can get a security clearance.

You'd be surprised by how early these things are taken down. Anyway, shoot your shot at all the big companies. An internship at a prestigious company could turn into a job which you would have never otherwise gotten. But the trick is that internships are only available to people with student status, and to people who apply 9 months in advance.
