I live in Ireland and i made a post looking for friends who live in Ireland on facebook. Yesterday this woman who lives in the same city as me liked my profile and sent me a friend request so i messaged her and we chatted om facebook messenger for a bit then she wanted to add me on instagram. I added her and we are chatting there. She asked about my job. I am currently looking for a job. Should I delete the chat/block her now? I thought she was just looking for friends.

Yo mate ! Why not just try making friends? She seems to be trying to find common ground between the both of you so you should take up the opportunity mate.

She asked what job I have. She's trying to figure out how much money I am making. I matched with a woman on a dating app who was in college a while ago and she asked what job i had and then unmatched when i said i was looking for work

You're reading too much into it. Asking what someone does for work is a fairly common question. If she's feeling you out because she wants to date you that's one thing but you literally posted for friends. Preemptively blocking her in the off-chance she'd unfriend you over being unemployed is just your insecurities speaking.

Because all women hold the same standards and opinions? Maybe she cares more about having direction or a plan over dollar signs. There's a difference between unemployed and actively looking for work and neeting.

If you decide for her, you will always be alone. Give her the respect to decide for herself if she wants to continue speaking.

Be an outcome independent Chad. Just let her know that you're looking for work, but don't take it personally if she rejects you. You're practically throwing out a potential good outcome to spare yourself from rejection. It's no big deal if she turns out to only want money, you dodged a bullet in that case.

Lol, that's literally every girl. You can only get away with being jobless if you were a 6'4" Chad. He should just lie about his job. If he ever worked before, he would know the schedules and lunches to text her at the right time.

this bitch is in no place to be asking people jobs and incomes, she's probably swamped in debt.

I agree that the question is in bad taste. But it could've been earnest. You can't know for sure.

Why are you telling /adv/ that this question is giving you the ick? Why don't you tell her instead?
