We've been texting less and less recently and she leaves me on read for hours at a time - I'm pretty sure it's because she's met someone else but idk for sure.

I was planning on cutting her off but I literally can't stop thinking about her constantly and don't know what to do.
>>
The same thing happened to me: she stopped starting conversations, she lost interest in me, days went by without texting, hours without replying, and when she did reply, there was no way to keep the conversation going. I begged her to keep trying, but it was no use—she had already been with someone else for a while. I didn't ask her for explanations because it was pointless when she was already happy with someone else.
When someone cares about you, it shows. Cutting off communication is hard, but it's for the best. She might reply to you out of nostalgia or as a second option, but she won't dare cut you off directly so she doesn't have to feel guilty. Sometimes you try to talk to fix things, but even if you could stay with her for a while, it might just be out of pity and not because she feels the same way about you. I'd recommend that you go out with other people as friends so you don't feel lonely; over time, the feeling will fade, and then you'll be ready to meet someone better for you.
>>
>>34950280

Sorry that happened to you

I feel sick to my stomach. I know she's seeing someone else but part of me wants to believe otherwise, and that everything will work out in the end. I can't seem to let go - I don't want to. The worst part is that I was happier before I met her, I was happy alone and yet now she's all I can think about. It's really affecting my mental health
>>
I completely understand you, but you have to let her go. I know you want to reconnect, explain things, or try to fix it, but nothing is going to work. She made a decision. Do you happen to know why?
Look, it sounds easy to say 'just forget her,' so don't feel bad if you text her out of anxiety; when you are in love, that's normal. In my case, I had several rough patches, I missed her a lot, and I would text her at night back before I found out she was with him. I became a joke to her and some mutual friends—I'm not sure about her partner, though I'd still say you shouldn't keep insisting.
Sorry about the writing, I don't know English and I'm using a translator.
>>
>>34950301
It's all temporary and you'll get over it. Just cut her off and move on like you say you planned on.
>>
If you're not entirely sure, be direct, ask her out, and just talk to her—you have nothing to lose. You'll go home knowing you gave it a try.
>>
>>34950171
For how long have you known her?
>>
>>34950171
im sorry OP, but like the other anon said if youre not sure be direct, in this situation you really do have nothing to lose; thats what id recommend
>>
>>34950171
You have two choices.

1. Cut her now. Take the loss and feel it, and heal with your brain intact.

2. Go to the psychiatrist, numb your brain with antidepressants, Cut her then, Take the loss and feel it gradually less, and be unable to be happy, and thus to unable to attract anyone else through enthusiasm, ever again.

A tale as old as time.
Women can be brutal bro. Sounds like you've gotta move towards no contact.
For your sake idk if it's truly over, so don't block her and make out like you're having a fit over the whole thing. What's really important is maintaining dignity (don't be a needy cunt). Archive her chats so you can avoid habitually checking on her messages, have a glance periodically and maybe reply if you receive something substantial.

Take the power back even if you're silently grieving. If she doesn't eventually have a sook and ask why you've gone cold on her take the next step, remove her from everything and commence pretending you never knew her.

Worst case scenario that's where you'll end up anyway but at least you maintain your self respect + aren't left wondering if things would have worked out if you didn't take the extreme option and block them.
>>
>>34951783
That's more or less what I've been doing so far and yet I feel like I've grown too attached. I want to not care about her but I can't
>>
>>34951472
You barely know her then, that's just infatuation.
If say you've lived together for like 3 years, you'd probably not even stand her. You'd look back at this moment and cringe for feeling like this.
>>
>>34951800
How do I make it stop?
>>
>>34951798
That's just the way this thing goes, my friend.
Time and self control is all it takes. It'll sting for a while but it doesn't take long for the obsession to stop. Just don't reopen old wounds by looking her up or spending too long thinking about her
>>
>>34951807
Honestly, just let yourself do it. Text her, keep talking to her, keep on going, whatever. If she doesn't reciprocate, you'll get tired of it then realize how stupid it all was then you'll stop eventually. It's a learning experience.

I use an old Android from 2017, it doesn't tell me when my message is read, I can't see gay reactions to my text. It's great, you should go back to a simpler time, send your message and continue on with your life, if that cunt gets back to you fine, of not onto the next cunt.
>>
>>34950171
>I'm pretty sure it's because she's met someone else
Do you have *any* actual evidence for this?
>>
>>34952237
It's complicated and hard to explain, I suppose "strongly suspect" would word it better. It's one of those situations where you eventually find out the truth and think "how did I not see this sooner". Don't get me wrong, if she isn't talking to someone else I'd be ecstatic - it would completely change how I see her.

I went through something similar this year. Just stop texting her. If she actually cares about you, she'll text her yourself. Don't block her anywhere, don't send an ultimatum or a "you really hurt me" kind of text, just stop texting. If she cares she'll reach out, and if not you'll be on your way to forgetting her.

It's perfectly fine to think about her, and it's perfectly normal to be upset about it. But try to think of her less and less every day. Spend time with people who actually care about you, work on hobbies (active hobbies - watching TV or listening to music won't help), meet other women, go to work.

DO NOT CHECK HER SOCIAL MEDIA. You might for signs that she cares or find more things to wrap your head around that keep you attached. Obscure signs and hints are not what reciprocated feelings look like. >>34950280 is good advice, when someone cares it shows. She wouldn't be making you look for signs, she would be showing you she cares by responding to your texts and making you feel wanted.

Also
>>34951472
Ignore the other replies, love is weird and falling head over heels for someone in three months (or less) totally happens sometimes. But you still need to get over her.
>>
>>34957512
"If she actually cares about you she'll let you know"

You're right, but she sometimes seems super interested and talks all day but other days leaves me on read for hours if not days. It feels like mind games and idk what's going on behind the scenes.

I wasn't going to beg for an explanation or give her an ultimatum, I was going to send a simple "I think we should go our separate ways etc." in a way that's respectful and dignified.

I'll miss her though sadly
>>

>>
>>34957530
nta but I was in a similar situation this year too. If you don’t know why she has stopped texting you, the worst thing you can do is trying to fix it. There are many reasons she could have stopped texting, maybe she is feeling rushed into a relationship she is not ready for, maybe she is testing you to see how you react to her distance or maybe she just does not think about you in a romantic way… You can’t be sure but women are usually intentional when they want to something with you. However, her not being interested now does not mean she can’t be interested in the future so even if you are afraid of being friendzoned, don’t try to rush anything or you will blow you chances.

You are feeling insecure because you like her and it’s totally normal but you won’t get anything from overreacting. You also say you were happier before meeting her but are you really sure about that? Seeing how attached you have become in 3 months it looks like she has been filling a void in your life. Give her space and try to regulate your emotions in the meantime. If she wants to talk to you, she will and when she does get back to you, try not to get back all the time ‘lost’ or you will push her away again.

It sucks but try to identify if you are feeling validated by her attention because if you do that you will keep suffering with every potential relationship you have.
>>
>>34950171
Just think, she makes a conscious effort everyday to not be a part of your life. It’s over. Kill her or move on.
>>
>>34957530
Were you dating or just friends/texting? "I think we should go our separate ways" is extremely overdramatic if you weren't dating. And honestly even if you were dating, to me it sounds like you're just trying to get the last word, like you want to be the one to end things instead of her because of pride or embarrassment or both. If she stops texting you, just stop texting her.
>>
>>34952085 Are you actually even together? Don't block her or break up. This gives her a chance to message you. I did the blocking thing to a girl and deleted her number and I regretted for years. I was way too impulse because she forgot to message me about a meetup she contacted me about months prior.

Do the first one with a mental adjustmented. What you do is allow her a possibility to message you, but you're not waiting for her either. Pretend she's on a long trip without service or that she died. Go do your other life stuff. If she messages you, cool. If not, you can start moving on right now. So leave an opening for her to message, but don't be waiting for her reply.
>>
>>34957713
Seconding this I did this shit and hastily blocked and deleted a girl and not so long afterwards it turned out she actually did just forget to text me and was really, really upset about it (like, literally hated me for it). There's no guarantee this girl isn't blowing you off, but "don't burn bridges" is good life advice in general.
>>
>>34952456
NTA. It was 9 years ago and it was a simple a time than now. The further back in time you go, the simpler it gets because there is less tech. I like tech, but the more things we introduce, the more paperwork there is. Wishing someone to kill themselves over such a statement shows you have serious mental issues. Please get help.
>>
>>34957719
Yeah, some argue that forgetting to text you means that she doesn't care about you, but I've forgotten to text people about stuff I really cared about for us doing either because I've overslept or was having to deal with something else. It feels so stupid when all that needed to happen was reaching out with a reminder. Of course you don't always want to be the reminder. Makes me feel a bit better knowing I'm not the only one who got mad and did something stupid in haste though.
>>
Don’t listen to these retards making excuses for women “forgetting” to text you. Think of the people you “forgot” to text back right away, and that’s exactly how they feel about you. You’re not a priority. They may respond eventually just to be polite, but not because they actually want to deal with you.
>>
>>34957749
>You're not a priority
Yeah if you haven't known her long you're probably not a priority, dipshit.
>>
>>34957811
Actually that’s worse because in means there isn’t even a honeymoon phase, it’s dead on arrival.
>>
>>34957692
I can't stop thinking about her and it's obvious she doesn't feel the same way about me. It's not good for my mental health to be stuck like this, pathetically waiting for a reply and wondering if she's talking to other men. I want to move on for closure, for the sake of my mental wellbeing, the sooner I move on the sooner I can heal.

That's how I feel. I can't just "leave it" and keep clinging on wondering when or if she'll message me back
>>

>>34957749
>Think of the people you “forgot” to text back right away
That was literally in my post. >>34957730
I have forgotten to text people about something, felt really shitty about it, and later texted with them as soon as I remembered. That absolutely doesn't mean I don't care about them. Sometimes it is making sure I can commit to a plan before texting back and then having a family member bug me about something and then needing to go to bed, forgetting because of work the next day and then remembering when I get home. You cannot tell me that you've never forgotten something that you care about.
>>
>>34957916
>mets
meets* My damn e key stuck and I didn't proofread.
>>
>>34957933
Even so I can see she's online on Instagram so it's obviously deliberate
>>
>>34957954
Not necessarily. This is the very reason why I don't show people my online status. It's possible I am shown online and not seen a message. I don't get as many DMs as others but sometimes a message does get buried for me by other DMs coming in. I've also had my phone show me as online because I left the app open in the background and then not seen a message until the next day. As soon as my friend let me know that he saw me online yesterday, I went in to check my message from him and then adjusted my settings so I wouldn't appear online. I realize that too many people get into these headspaces and I don't want my appearance of being online when I'm actually not even looking at my messages to affect their perception. This also allows me to see a message, get my stuff together for the day, and then go back and reply without them feeling like I ignored them because they saw I left them on read. Like, I'll get to you, but I want to have breakfast, get dressed, make my appointment phone call, and go to work first. I'll message you on my break so that I'm not late to work and fired.
>>
>>34957986
PS this also reminded me that my friend asked me to go somewhere yesterday but I didn't see the message until bed last night and it was too late to reply. I also didn't wake up until 2 hours after he messaged me. So I'm going to get on my phone now and reply to him.
>>

Similar to OP, I'm trying to distance from a best friend that rejected me. We've known eachother 3 years, but Ive only had feelings for 2 monhs. We both wanted to stay friends and I'd hoped that some space would let me get to a place where we look back on this and laugh. Been a week now.

She's making this distancing thing hard though: Like we both agreed to it, but she was still trying to keep our Snapchat streak going and was confused when I didn't or how I was quieter in group chats (I muted them) she sent a bunch of memes today assumedly to reaffirm "we're still good". I try and be sociable but short when she messages. And after all that she left me on read for hours...

She's obsessed with this fuck buddy who she hopes will get serious but he clearly uses her for sex, only calling her when he's interested and doesn't come to things like her birthday or group events. She has a history to prioritise said fuck buddy over plans with others. She recently made a Snapchat pining over times with said fuck buddy and that was enough for me to delete Snapchat (don't really use it).

I don't wanna be the guy pining over a girl who pines over someone else.
>>
>>34957916
The point is you’re both supposed to be excited to talk to each other.
>>
>>34958155
Yeah dude…it’s over.
>>
>>34958260
Then take the advice. Don't block her because that's stupid. Don't be a drama queen with a break up text. You don't need to wait for her, you just go do whatever with your life, and if you're right that it's over you can move on right now. If you're wrong and she messages you, you can decide if you still want her at that time. But if you do reopen that, it is on you to in-person meetups. It takes two to tango.
>>
>>34951472
This is the most faggy thread ever. lmao
>>
>>34952085
Write a "breakup" message, I don't consider 3 months anything honestly...
>>
>>34958244
Do you guys even read the shit you post?

Why would you want to stay friends with someone you had feelings for? What are you getting out of this friendship that is worth the misery and humiliation of being in this predicament?
You have to listen to the girl you have feelings for complain that the guy who actually gets to own her body doesn't commit to her after creampieing her pussy whenever he wants.

>he clearly uses her for sex
Cut this bluepill simp mindset. This is a feminist, misandrist way of framing a consensual relationship where a woman is fully aware the man isn't going to give her commitment but she still willfully chooses to stay because she is still physically attracted to him.

He's not "using" her for shit, SHE LIKES AND WANTS TO GET FUCKED BY HIM. He's not forcing her into anything and she's not a toddler. She shaves, showers, grooms herself, maybe puts on a lingerie and goes over to his place so she can make him cum knowing full well that this is what he wants from her and she wants it too.

Start working on moving on, and start now by cutting her off from your life completely and immediately. She doesn't feel anything and you'll never be the guy she actually wanted. You and her were never meant to be.
>>
>>34958244
I don't even know if she is, I'm just assuming because of the way she acts. I'm constantly left wondering and I hate it.
>>
>>34957719
Maybe you made the right choice and she only said she forgot to message you so she doesn't look bad and to make you look bad?
>>
>>34958269
The uncertainty is affecting my mental health, the fact that I'm thinking about her constantly while the feeling isn't mutual isn't healthy. I'm not the type of person to just block her on everything without explanation though, that's what the "breakup message" would be for, then I can block her and move on
>>
>>34958260
that's what I thought last time but she ended up messaging me back wanting to meet
>>
>>34950171

Kind of similar. We had been texting almost non-stop for 5 months. A few times she ghosted me (early on someone at work asked her if we were dating and she disappeared for 3 weeks, later disappeared for 11 days, then for 5 days).

But every time she came back she came back stronger and opened up more. We finally became a couple early this month when we had our first kiss. I had a crush on her almost a year and in love with her for months so this all felt like a dream.

She is rather sheltered and I was her first everything (except we didn't have penetrative sex). It all happened really quickly but I followed her lead and speed, letting her tell me what she wanted to do.

She ended up spending the night and a few hours after I took her home she texted me in a panic. Said she couldn't do this. Was worried about her job (its complicated but she's in a position where she can't date coworkers but that wasn't an issue during the build up). Promised she wouldn't ghost or ignore me.

Then blocked me a week later during a normal conversation. Stopped talking to me at work and refused to talk about things. Returned gifts I had given her. Told me I can only talk to her about work things. Starting to make plans to do things with other women at work that I wouldn't expect her to want to do (like go clubbing).

Just... cut out like that.

I catch her looking at me sometimes. Sometimes asking me to do work things that she doesn't really need to ask me to do (she could just ask anyone but me), asking me for help at work, and at least once seemingly went out of her way to walk around me twice when she could have easily avoided it. But I feel like all of those are me reading too much into nothing.

It fucking hurts. She refused to explain the block and went as far as to lie and say she didn't block me when I asked why she did it until I called her out.

She was apart of every aspect of my life for months and now my phone is silent.
>>
>>34960990
Sounds absolutely bizarre but similar to what I'm going through. Did it turn out she was seeing someone else and you were just plan B?
>>
>>34961017
It's been about three weeks since the break up and two since the block. I don't think she's seeing/talking to anyone else but I don't really know.
>>
>>34961034
And you work together as well? That's grim, but it sounds like she's playing you
>>
>>34961067

I think she got scared because we moved so fast and she realized her job could be in jeopardy. But a mutual friend (more mine than her's) kind of said she's worried I'm being toyed with. She also said she thinks she'll come back, because she has in the past, but is upset because she knows I'll just take her back and not address all the ghostings.

I don't think she's coming back. This all feels so much more serious than when she ghosted before

But I just don't understand. Before we were official she'd get sad when I even joked about having to stop texting her at night. She'd text me all day and all night until one of us fell asleep.

She asked me to hang out the first few times. She tried to get me to dirty talk her first. After our first kiss she told me to be more bold and let me touch her. Two days later I was eating her out in my backseat as she asked for more. Then she was asking me to get her at midnight and she spent the night, fooling around until like 10 am when she fell asleep.

She was so happy when we hung out, when i took her places, bought her food and little things. I asked if I could buy birthday gifts for her younger siblings (their birthday was around the time we started as offical) and she was going to help me pick them out. She was having me play games with her siblings. I was being incorporated into her life for real... and now she's a stranger.
>>
>>34961104
Either way I'd move on, even if she does "come back" and apologise. If she's willing to block you and ignore you in person randomly after doing so much together it was clearly never meant to last and never meant much to her
>>
>>34961121
Deep down I know this. I've been doing a lot of research on anxious avoidants and she's pretty textbook. But it doesn't change all the hurt she's caused me.
>>
>>34960990
>texting for months
>she disappears and ghosts you FROM TEXTING ALONE
>first kiss AFTER A YEAR
This is so pathetic. She can't get the image of you being a pathetic beta out of her mind, no matter how good you are together or how much she cums during sex.
You simped her FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR dude. WHAT THE FUCK? Take it as a lesson. If you don't fuck a woman within a couple of weeks of meeting her, MOVE ON AND FIND A WOMAN WHO WILL FUCK YOU.
IDIOT.
>>
>>34961125
I wouldn't try to understand or categorise her behaviour to justify what she's doing to you. She knows exactly what she's doing and it's best not to make excuses on her behalf imo.

But that's just my opinion and like I say we're both in a similar situation
>>
>>34961142
I never said it was a year. We staeted talking about five months ago, getting to know each other and getting closer. We began hanging out in person about four months in and we kissed the third time we hung out. When did I say a year?
>>
>>34961149
What is your situation?
>>
>>34961164
I'm OP. There's a LOT more to the story and it's all a mess.

We were supposed to meet for a first date but she stood me up and messaged me later to ask if I'm ok but I ghosted her and was ready to move on. A week later she sent me a random meme and I reacted to it, she said she was sad I ghosted her and apologised for standing me up and blamed her anxiety - so I gave her a second chance.

We talk every day non stop for over a week when she tells me she's done something stupid, I ask what and she tells me she's on a dating site, I ask why and she tells me she has ""issues"" and agreed to delete it.

I really should have blocked her there and idk why I didn't but I thought we could still be friends for some reason. We've been talking ever since and she still asks about meeting

I know I should cut her off but I can't stop thinking about her. I wanted to stay friends originally but I can't bear it to know she's probably talking to other men
>>
>>34961203
That's really rough. It sounds like she is kind of a mess, especially if she's talking to other guys and you and admitting it like that. I'm really sorry.
>>
>>34961257
At first I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt considering I ghosted her for a week, but this was a week after we'd started talking again.

The guy she was speaking to was extremely angry with her for some reason and was threatening to call the police in the messages between them but she wouldn't tell me why or what happened. I feel like that's the only reason she told me as well.
>>
>>34961286

Hit the gym, follow groups and events that fulfill your soul, and clap some cheeks along the way with people you meet there.

If she’s not responding, cut her off. It’s not healthy tor attractive o dedicate more attention to someone than they’re giving you, aside from a few notable exceptions.
>>
>>34961315
She responds, but only when it suits her and then she'll randomly ghost me mid conversation
>>
>>34961158
>I had a crush on her almost a year

So it's even worse. You had a crush for a year and only started talking 5 months ago. So you had a crush on a girl you didn't even know for 7 months. I hope you realize how pathetic this sounds.

You romanticized this situation way too much. She was never really into you. Maybe she thought "well this guy is nice enough and persistent so I'll try him out see if I can feel something for him". Turns out she didn't feel anything.

You have a mental disease called oneitis. This is usually caused by extremely low self-esteem. Stop thinking this girl is special she has flaws just like everyone else. Start talking to more women and treat them like people and try to fuck them because that's your job, having the courage to ask the woman out, break barriers and have sex asap.

HAVE SEX WITHIN A MONTH OF MEETING ANY WOMAN, YOU IDIOT.
Eat her pussy so you can smell the rotten fish. Let the insane desire you have for that pussy mix with the foul smell in your nostrils. Taste how human and rotten she is. Love comes AFTER that. IDIOT.

Never ever EVER choose someone that doesn't choose you. You will keep feeling bad until you understand this.

Idk if she's choosing me, I get mixed messages constantly
>>

From your previous messages, you are what my boss told me about once. You are what is known as a "dick in a box'. Sometimes you're going to run into a scenario where she's gonna be talking to you for hours, or you're gonna go and be inseparable for a whole day somewhere. You might get looks from others in public or someone mistakes the two of you for being a couple. It's the facade of something more. She's choosing you because no one else is around, and it may not even be planned/malicious/intentionally. At the end of the day however, you're gonna just get put back in a box. You're acting as safety. It's up to you to decide if that's okay for you or not strictly platonically and if you can continue. Think about your needs!

Made me lol

Whatever I am to her, I just want to lose any feelings I have towards her so I can move on and not look back. I don't want to have any doubts
>>
>>34950171
>I literally can't stop thinking about her constantly and don't know what to do.
Time will heal you dude, thug this shit out. 90% of these comments are from incels, don't listen to them.

And then she’ll leave you again. The cycle will repeat until you’re so emotionally distraught that you’ll check yourself into a mental hospital. But you’ll continue to contact her and then one day she’ll block you and threaten you with restraining order if you don’t stop trying to contact her. You’ll fall into a deep depression and start drinking to cope and eventually get a DUI and lose your job and waste thousands of $$$ all because of this stupid fucking bitch.
>>
>>34961819
That's very specific but yeah
>>
None of you have had a healthy relationship with a woman, have you? I'm seeing a lot of incel/manosphere garbage.

Talk to her. Tell her exactly what is on your mind. If she still does the things that hurt you then she is the one lacking emotional maturity. She is a person, so talk to her like one.

OP, you're 22. You have a long life ahead of you. This 20 year old will be a distant memory one day, probably sooner than you realize. Hopefully she can also get her shit together but your number one priority is to protect your own peace.

And despite everything I just said, don't seek advice from fucking 4chan. It's incels and losers who get their ideas of women from other incels and losers who think it's their "job" to "fuck a woman".

Update:

She was speaking to another man.

My intuition was right.

You know what you must do.
>>
>>34963452
She said he's just a friend
>>
>>34963456
She is a whore and you must attack her.
>>
Sometimes you have to let go. I had a 7 year companionship go because they ended things but continued to talk in the same way as if she didn't just discard me. Make your self inaccessible unless you want to get hurt, people like this just want what they want without thinking how it affects others.
>>

>people like this just want what they want without thinking how it affects others.
She can be taught a lesson if OP physically attacks her. That'll show her!
>>
>>34963466
True. Do it, OP. Don’t let her leave you holding the bag. Hurt her like she hurt you, otherwise she’ll keep doing it. It’s not fair and it doesn’t have to be.
>>

>>34963478
At this point I just want to get over her and forget everything
>>
>>34964200
You know in your heart that’s just not possible.
>>
>>34964221
It's possible I just don't know where to go from here

Forget that chick and move on. Plenty of fiah in the sea.
>>
This is funny to me because I made myself stop texting a guy and just totally forget about him when hes not around or trying to holler. I dont understand this post.
>>
>>34964269
So you didn't have any feelings towards him - it's incomparable to my situation
>>
>>34964329
I am saying you can turn your feelings off.
>>
>>34964333
I wish I could.
I'm still hung up thinking about what could have been, we were planning on doing so much together and now just... nothing. Like none of it ever mattered
>>
>>34964357
Don’t take advice from foids on this topic. They live in a different reality, one where they always have options/another guy waiting.
>>
>>34964585
Tbh I have never had options or anyone waiting. I guess that is why I am cold.
>>
>>34964357
You can. Literally fill your head with other things.
