I was vacuuming today with those small handheld vacuums like in pic for about 20 mins with my right hand. After I stopped I noticed my right hand feels weak and numb, like my pink is tingly and my wrist feels sore. What is happening and why? I've never felt anything like this before. I rested for 2 hours without moving my right hand and it slightly calmed down but my pinky is still tingly and my wrist is still a little sore. ChatGPT is useless and tells me in bold and caps to call 911 because "I'm having a stroke" (not true)

It's a nerve thing. You put the same parts under stress for too long. It wasn't fixed by resting your hand because the issue was that you held your hand in the same position for too long in the first place. Doing light stretches and using your hand normally without overworking it should clear it up when that happens.

Should i take ibuprofen?

Ibuprofen can't help with nerve pain. But you can take it in case there's any inflammation contributing to the issue. Can't hurt.

Repetitive Stress Injury.
Eat a few cans of sardines (omega-3 is an anti-inflammatory that works on nerves), and put an ice pack on your wrist and hand (or fill a mixing bowl with water and ice and submerge your hand in it) for 30-45 mins.

It is from your hand stabilizing against the motor. I get the same thing, but from less exposure, when I use my sawzall

The tingly feeling you describe is nerve pain. Sounds like it could be a trapped nerve. Sometimes the body jams them into the wrong place and they bother you until you fix it. Try stretching flexing your arm.

Vibration can do that. I've had a similar problem using a hedge trimmer. It will probably eventually get better, but it might take a few days.

I slept it off and woke up feeling fine now. That was scary and has never happened before. Guess I'll have to take breaks from now on when I use vibrating stuff like the vacuum

Could be a lot of different things. Even something as simple as sleeping on your arm wrong. But basically you've pinched a nerve.

sounds like vibration. I get that same sensation pretty much every time I use a strong pressure washer at like a self-service car wash. very uncomfortable for a few hours.
