I find it increasingly impossible to date because of how I am and how my life has been. It truly feels that with dating, every woman holds all the cards over me. I know it sounds crazy but I don't like having such insane disadvantages when it comes to dating. I'd rather it be more even. For example, I know that if I date a woman and actually get in a relationship, I am suddenly going to have to go to her family dinners and her family events or outings etc. My family is small and my parents are deceased. I never celebrate Christmas or Thanksgiving and I never buy gifts for anything(because I don't have to). So in my mind, my mind is telling me "If you had a girlfriend, you'd suddenly have to deal with all this extra shit like going out to events and dealing with in-laws if you get married" etc. So it feels like I have to jump through hoops to get the dates and then IF I get a relationship, I'd suddenly have all this extra shit to do that the woman would NEVER have to do with me or even for me. Like she will never have to deal with my parents. I am never going to ask her to go somewhere ridiculous. Hell, I'd probably not even ask for a glass of water. So truthfully, to me, it seems like I'd only gain a ton of stuff that I'd be now obligated to do and the woman would gain no obligations from me. Am I missing something? This really stops me from dating because I can't wrap my head around why I am like this.
>>34961738You know not everyone wants or needs to do all the shit you're talking about. My last girlfriend had a dead dad and bad relationship with her father. She was a weird hippie and didn't believe in thanksgiving or christmas. Anything relating to family or holidays we did with my friends and family. She also was miserable to be around and I dumped her, but maybe I could give you her number she seems like your type.
>>34961748Not saying you are wrong but I find that it is common that people do all that shit. I have asked some friends in the past how their weekend went and sometimes it would be "Oh, I had to hang out at the in-laws house with the wife." or some variation. But maybe you are right too though. Maybe there are a lot of people who don't do stuff like that. I will be truthful, I have never met any woman who didn't try to drag her boyfriend or husband into ridiculous shit. But I think what I find ridiculous may be skewed somehow. I find many events and outings to be ridiculous inherently unfortunately.
dude who the fuck wants to spend christimas aloneif you're lucky enough that a girl doesn't see you like the miserable piece of shit that you are and invites you to be with her family, that is a GOOD thingdoing relationship stuff that you dont want is part of the package, but i think going out for christimas and NYE with her fucking family 2 times a year is not a big deal considering that you get a company for life, affection, romance, sex, good morning texts, etc etc
