Any advice on how to handle being doxxed?
>>34964062Lay low until they forget about you and stop harassing you, don't fight back or don't reply to them because if they get any reaction out of you they will get bored and stop.If they persist and it's unberable move and keep your life as private as possible.
>>34964062There isn't anything you can do really, they will slowly ruin your life and you will go insane. Just look at what happened to Gypsy crusader.
>>34964062Can you link us to the dox so I can advise?
>>34964062Look away from the screen.
>>34964062Love yourself?
>>34964062Do coke and own it, becoming a lolcow or a brilliant
Nothing. No one does anything anyways.
>>34964062Ignore it. Maybe like 3 people care, probably even less. Are you famous? Probably not.
turn off any methods of communication from people you don't know, ie allowing random people to message your social media profiles if you have any. if it's posted on a dedicated site, avoid reading any of the commentary around it. don't acknowledge it publicly as having any effect on you. most people won't care unless you're famous. if you're getting sent threats, you can catalogue the evidence and report the accounts but unless they're credible enough to seem genuinely life threatening that's a bit of a bitch move.if your nudes are posted online, you want them down, and are in the us, go here and fill out the forms so the images can be hashed and automatically removed.>https://stopncii.orgif you are under the age of 18 in any of them, use this one tied to the national center for missing and exploited children. it's triaged to deal with child pornography.>https://takeitdown.ncmec.orgmost websites hosting these will comply with direct take down requests if you message them. both of these sites have lists of steps involved for major social media. if you're on a private site or one dedicated to doxing, you could try leverage pressure on their service providers but it's not really worth it. they cycle through targets so much you'll be old news within ten minutes if you give them nothing to latch onto for escalation.if the person doxing you is someone you know personally, you can look into filing harassment charges. if they're siccing internet mobs on you this likely isn't their first time doing so and they're much more of an immediate physical threat than someone online.if you're mostly just getting mean words, ignore them. the internet is so full of that now and everyone seems to constantly incriminate or dox themselves that this really isn't the big life-ruiner it used to be. your bigger threats are retaliation and ostracism within your immediate social circle. nudes and racist memes are no longer a big deal. the tools above are more for footprint cleanup.

>>34964062The post two above me has good advice. You should avoid confirming any of the doxx is correct and private anything you can. If the doxx is on a mainstream platform and it just happened it's advisable to act quick and file a take down request with the platform to hopefully prevent it from spreading. It might be time to rotate passwords and set up 2FA on your most important accounts to avoid the increased interest turning into a hack. Think back to what websites you have an account on, even if unused. If they have an email or username, they will go after anything linked to those. If the doxx is connected to an online identity like a discord account I'd advise to completely abandon it and start anew. Avoid connecting back to your old identity at all cost and don't engage with the communities that might recognize you. You can recognize people from their typing style alone. If the issue is serious enough, it's easier to lose online friends than to face further harassment. Avoid creating a new alt account on or around the time you got doxxed. The best approach is to keep the fact that your doxx is out there in mind for as long as possible when doing anything else. The pressure is the most intense now. You can get to relax later on. You should also look back and see how the people got your doxx and avoid making the same mistake twice. Did you have a weak password? Did you reuse a usernames where you weren't supposed to? Did you download malware? What information could they have gained access to and not publish (yet)?
