How do I enter the workforce again after nearly four years unemployed & without study? I'm almost 22, and I've been taking care of my elderly grandma after having something approximating a nervous breakdown when I was a teenager. All that mental baggage has left me now, but I'm still unsure how to place those first building blocks again. I intend to join the army soon to develop skills needed for a career, but I need something to keep me busy in preparation for that. I'm able-bodied, healthy, and still have decent communication skills. I have a year of experience with regular 40+ hour weeks at McDonalds, but I'm not sure how much of that is still with me now.
>>34966097What exact career skills do you intend to acquire in the army? This is very very important because being an infantryman gives you no skills and fucked up knees. Also, consider the navy too, Uncle Sam needs sailors more than he needs soldiers
>>34966234I intend to train as an electrician within the army, working on equipment and infrastructure. I'd also be doing what my deceased father requested of me, which is a high priority for me. He was an infantryman stationed in Malaya in 1968. The Navy would probably suit my temperament more, but I'm reluctant about the open ocean, and the Australian Navy is more likely to be involved in a crisis in the Taiwan Strait than the Army.
>>34966247Hey, that's a pretty good plan. If your armed forces are anything like ours, just make sure whatever you sign says you're going to be an electrician.
Literally just lieit is morally acceptable to lie especially when most resumes are filtered through AI at this point
