I barely reflect about things anymore and I don't care about many things, only games, books and visual novels, and even though I read books I don't think they aggregate too much to myself, probably because I'm a NPC. The only thing that is occupying my mind lately is my coursework and Danganronpa, which lead me to want to read more mystery novels, and while there is nothing wrong with that, maybe it's too little. How to stop being an NPC and become a proper person? It seems that even with what I'm majoring in I'm more moved by university bureaucracy than the passionate flames of my heart, one that is eager to understand deep ideas and such.

It sounds like you do have a rich inner life, therefore not an NPC already

Ive had non npc moments from being a writer. Emotionally we record things. I had to get past my mom feminizing me to remember something, then i had to hit on women for 2 years. Before that i had no thought. Your conscious is a steering wheel but right now ur in flat waters containing whatever is blocking you. Thats not npc thats the starts of adventure. Focus on what you want.
I recommend setting intent at the beginning of the day and challenging yourself to make it happen.
“Im gonna write 2 shorts and marry that girl” well it might not happen but doing this will save your life it allows you to work on skills and feel some unhappiness. Work with what you got

Wrong most people function like NPCs simply because original thinking takes too much battery. The human brain is incredibly lazy and loves shortcuts. Instead of wasting energy inventing a unique personality, it just hits copy paste on whatever is popular. Society hands everyone the exact same daily script—wake up, scroll, go to school or work, buy coffee, sleep, repeat and 90% of people gladly run that software update without ever questioning it. Blending in and echoing the crowd isn't just easy, it’s the ultimate survival hack to avoid social awkwardness. They aren't actually programmed video game code, they just prefer living life on autopilot because standing out requires effort.

Ive had moments where im in a cafe wonderinf if ill ever get out and something hits me watching a girls pants move. You probably are in uni waiting for the same thing. The things blocking you are most likely on the path to the things you really want, not distracting you from the real path

U can set up nice days in that format simply by twisting your wrist at the right people. Sounds like the setup to a british movie

What are you doing actively?
An NPC has passive interests. They receive.
Making, OTOH, is you building, and a source of fulfimment. Your long-term goals include building- your life, for example.
What else are you building? A good book is a joy, but it's just entertainment. It does not fill the need to build.
If you want to not feel like an NPC, you need to stop being a passenger in your own life and take charge of it. You need tangible experiences and sensations. You need to not feel like life is passing you by! . Will you change, and start building and experiencing? Otherwise, it's going to get worse, OP.
It's a poor life to have a heart that never has reason to rejoice.

Life is easier for folk like you. Just live your life bro.

what if Im bad at building though, I like to draw but I'm terrible at my own ideas, I want to make music and make many riffs in my niche genre but then I re listen to them and think ''this is terrible'', I build my body through weights but that doesn't fulfil a creative need to build. Is it just about doing these things despite being terrible to stave off becoming an NPC or is that cope, like if I thought of something then drew it and now that exists in the world does this stop me from being a drone?

stop using your phone and the internet every time you feel bored, you might have an original thought or two

I got shit for this earlier, but everyone likes to draw and wants to make music.
Do you have the 1 in 500,000 skill to make a living at either? Neither does anyone else.
Same thing we need to tell to retarded blacks in the1st world: Don't plan on playing professional sports.
Did your parents not have that talk with you?
Ok, now, real talk. Building is not just playing with crayons and a keyboard. It's fixing things, putting them together, using your resources to make something that didn't exist before. Yeah, there are respectable hobbies and ridiculous gay ones, but focus on real building: building relationships, a life, a future, a business. It's good to use your hands and brain to create, it's rewarding, but building also refers to building a life for yourself.
I own a millwork and fine carpentry shop. I mostly make high end custom staircases, statement pieces like bathtubs, but my kids are my legacy, not my business. Oh, I'm proud of it, but going home is the best part of my routine.
Op, if I can offer one more piece of advice, stop worrying about being ordinary. If you build a life you love, you'll end up doing something rewarding and exceptional if you make a plan and work towards it over the years, if that's what you want. The stuff that happens after you make concrete progress towards your goals will help you stay on target if your goal is a good one.

I have access to 0 workshops though, I have no intentions on making a living from hobby things, I dont think generating money from that is a requirement to being a non npc either. I also have nothing to fix or to put together. With no workshop or physical resources I cant make a staircase or bathtub so thats out of the window. I suppose I could look at pottery or something but that doesn't entirely interest me.

>building relationships, a life, a future, a business.

In terms of building a life itself I mean ive been doing that for 25 years, I have a gf, I do things with people occasionally, I have a job that I like from my stem MSc and I have enough to get a mortgage, I'm in very good health and physical shape. But in terms of a long term massive plan I have no idea, I've just been trying to get to this point for years and now I'm like wtf do I do now, I'm not sure what to do aside from continuing building what I'm building as on its current trajectory its solid but on a smaller level I dont create anything, there is no creation, but create what? I dont want to be an npc, I can consume finer things like literature or climbing up a mountain but I'm still consuming something, I'm sick of consuming and despite pondering what I could do to not be an NPC I'm still going to be an npc. Also not OP.

Thanks, anon. If what you said is true, it seems that I'm on the right track already.

>>34973400
Thank you for taking your time. Actively, I'm writing and playing sports. I am also trying to become a better reader by reading progressively harder books (even if that's more passive, at least my improvement fulfills me). And now that you say, I think I'm finding ways to not let life pass me by. I will try sticking to those.

OP here. From my experience, even if your drawing is bad, you have to keep practicing keeping in mind that if you do so, you will get better. After one year of drawing, I could see a huge difference in my skills, and the same goes for sports
especially because I'm a former fatfuck
.

>>34973612
That's my biggest problem. Despite knowing I should do that, I still get my phone or play some game, always.
