>Started college in 2019
>Covid hits, had taken on more classes
>Start failing, become so stressed out I develop physical health problems
>After talking it out with family, decide to take a break "year"
>Get into an argument with my dad in 2020, my phone gets shut off (unclear if he did it) and we stop talking his preferred way (on the phone/face time)
>My grandfather--mom's dad--dies in 2023 (one of the people I asked about the break year and someone I generally talked to about stuff)
>Later that year, get into a this really bad argument with my mom
>Stopped talking period, have barely said a word to anyone since
>Wanted to go back in 2024, but mom refused to do anything if I didn't to use my voice to communicate so I asked my dad through email
>things go nowhere, delete the email after series of arguments
>Mom had a stroke at the beginning of this year and quit her job due to stress
>After she comes back from the hospital, she starts accepting written communication from me
>Haven't spoken with my dad after and we argued over various things (including college; he me wants to transfer and go to a university near him in another state, he's been suggesting this since before covid) and I hung up on him
I'm not good at conversation, if you couldn't tell.

"I feel that I am ready to go back to school, and here's why.... Can we get together in person to agree on a plan of action?"
>>
Maybe fix the mutism thing before you attempt college no?

But who and how should I ask? When I originally went to college, I had help from (and was basically carried) by the high school's guidance counselor as a neutral third-party. Now, it's just me. In addition, I need things from both parents. In 2019, I had a macbook and bank account both parents would put money in for textbooks. In 2021, that Macbook stopped working and in 2023 for Christmas my dad got me a replacement laptop (not a macbook) but there is one major problem: it was a piece of junk. I don't mean to sound ungrateful or spoiled, it's just that the thing started falling apart less than month after I opened it. I was waiting up until Christmas time of next year to tell him but during on of our arguments I blurted out everything about the laptop. He got really mad after. Long story short: That laptop still works but barely (It takes nineteen hours to charge to one hundred percent and cannot be used while its charging, the battery also only last about two hours despite taking measures like low power mode and turning off the brightness) and I don't know how or who to ask for one. The second thing is FASA. I don't have a job or pay taxes so I need one of them to fill it out. My mother used to do it, when I asked dad things went slow and imploded.

I'm planning on doing online classes from home.

Online classes can be REALLY HARD to show up and actually learn for, bizarrely. It's very easy to ignore them. Is speaking physically painful or just mentally uncomfortable?

I did okay outside of two classes (business math and biology) but was able to have the waived.

The latter.

*I did okay during Okay during covid

I don't really know the best course of action but I'd probably treat whoever you have to convince like how one would sell themselves during a job interview. You have to bring up how it was purely the covid bullshit that set you back and not anything about your ability to get through those online classes. Since older people just sort of take young people's word on how online stuff works, you can reframe that to your advantage and portray college as this "young person thing" that'll be best for you in the long run. Keep in mind, I'm kind of a retard so take my advice with a freight train of salt.
