How do i handle this situation? My sister always keeps inviting me to things and want to be in contact, today she suggested going on a trip to Warsaw. Heres the thing: i dont want anything to do with my sister, if we were to not share blood i would stay as far away from her as i could. Im fine with meeting her at family gatherings, and she can even be pleasant to be around at those times but I would never voluntarily meet her if it wasnt some obligation. She physically and mentally abused me until teen years, acts including stealing, framing, holding me down and putting salt and pepper in my eyes, pulling out my hair, lying about me to others, seeking conflict to get an excuse to yell at me, break my stuff and much more. These things are no longer a problem as im not longer a child but now i pity her, she failed high school and has given up on her dreams while still holding some sense of superiority.Im guessing her interest in establishing some sort of regular contact comes from some sense of guilt. How do i handle this? What do i say to her? About the trip, i made an excuse about not having enough money because of uni and she offered to pay all expenses. I have no interest in spending time with her, i even scheduled an exam so i could miss her birthday party. Its not that i cant forgive her for her past, its that she has not at one point made a serious effort to make a change in her life or to her person. What do i do /adv/?
>>35002835tell her what you just wrote us. tell her straight and embrace the reputation it might give with your family.maybe she will realize her faults and fix her shit from it so why are you hiding from telling her?
>>35002901My mother is aware of this, i told her last year. She was devastated but she ultimately accepts it and understands where im coming from.My father would not accept it, and id rather not become estranged with the rest of my family. That is the nuclear option and is rather not go there.
It sounds like she is making an effort but maybe you need an actual apology. If you tell her all that she might just give you one
>>35002835The problem is that you are Polish.
>>35002901Don't do thisPeople shouldn't feel like they have to fix themselves or find faults in who they are
