I'm diagnosed autistic but I tell no one. Anytime anyone found out when I was a kid, theyd infantilize me to no end. "I have an autistic son too!!!!!! He's mute and slobbers on himself all the time so I have experienced with autistic people!!!!" On the outside I'm a confident, funny guy, and I hide my autism very well. You wouldn't think I'm mentally ill if you saw me. But I'm constantly exhausted and once I get to a tipping point, I act a lot more autistic. Irritable and I sound robotic. So how do I get rid of this? I can nap and do nothing all day and still be worn the fuck out.

>>35008214Look into The STOP technique. As tacky as this is, the Foxtale app is pretty good at helping you understand emotional stuff. Do you have real close friends? If you do, ask them (if they want to, if not, look into emotional regulation techniques), what do you see when I’m going into burnout. If you can stop or manage the spiral, you can maybe prevent a meltdown/burnout.>are you anxious or avoidant attached cause this may influence you too and guide and therapy directions>any comorbidities (ADHD, OCD, GAD, Social Anxiety Disorder). Address these ALONG with the autism as GAD and rumination compound ASD emotional processing and transition (emotional and event) tolerance/ability. I’m happy to help anon.>t. Been diagnosed since I was 16 pre “it’s cool to have it” era. I graduated college and law school (barely on that one) and lived independently. Now have a very loving GF. >but if you do have GF, be VERY careful not to make her your “special interest”
>>35008245No close friends but I got lots of coworkers and family members I mingle with. No other disorders but autism. I don't relate to most autistic people, they all seem pretty retarded to me. I don't have a "special interest", I don't have a dumb routine, I'm a spontaneous person who likes trying new things. I got diagnosed at 15, back then I had an anxiety disorder which brought out my autism for a time. I like to tell people I ain't autistic now, but I know I am.
>>35008278Chances are you have some ADHD tendencies, thus the craving novelty. "Routines" means more like>Tending to wear outfits you already tested and know you enjoy>Tending to make similar/same foods, or at least having them as fallbacksYou, me, and the other anon all would have been classified as sperglords but Asperger's got rolled into autism as it was determined to just be a lesser degree of the same neurodevelopment. Keep it to yourself if things are mostly going fine, but unfortunately being extremely prone to burnout/exhaustion is just a part of our lives. I am putting myself back in school as a grown ass 30 year old man to eventually work only half the year (niche field), I cannot fucking do this 45-58 hours a week blue collar bullshit anymore, my life does not exist outside of work and feeding myself. If work provides decent insurance, see if you can find a dude counselor specializing in burnout, because it sounds like you're falling into it.
