Is it over once you (during a big fight) call your overweight gf/bf fat? And they clearly get very resentful over it for a long time and never let go of it.

I have said sorry for it endless times, but at this point I'm wondering if I should cut my losses and leave even if it's been 5 years. I can just see the "I'm gonna lose weight and then leave out of spite" thoughts floating around at this point.

To do it right you have to be honest and say it when you're not fighting. They will still get very upset but that's the only appropriate time to tell them and hopefully they will start making better decisions. If they first hear that from you in an unrelated fight, that's not really fair and won't be received with any kind of grace

You should be calling her fat every waking hour of the day. Fat people are disgusting.
>>
Yeah it’s probably over. Sucks but there are things you can’t apologize for in any way that matters after you say them.
but
>I’m gonna lose weight and leave out of spite
It is nearly certain they cannot accomplish this no matter their motivation. They’re fat for a reason lmao
>>
If her reaction to being called fat is anything but losing weight immediately you need to break up with her. If it's true you had nothing to be sorry for so you showed her you're weak. Women are not stupid. She is only staying fat because she knows she can get away with it.

Jesus, grovelling apologies over a statement of fact? Fat is a description, not an insult.
>lose weight and leave out of spite
I saw that happen to a couple I was friends with. She lost weight then began relentlessly belittling her shy gamer husband as worthless and a manchild before dumping him. He was a quasi virgin when they met, but eventually he grew tired of pussy worship and that's when she decided "I deserve better"

reminds me of a fight i had with my bf desu, i would always call him fat, he tells me he’ll lose weight, and we move on and think nothing of it. during one of our recent fights, he said “i’m going to lose weight and find someone else to be with”. this was quite a while ago and i forgot about it, assuming he just said that out of anger. so i forgave him. but is this mindset actually real?? should i cut my losses and just leave him?

It seems like a silly thing to break over for, but if they don't want to leave it behind I guess there's not much that can be done besides either
>giving it more time
>breaking up
If I WERE to break up with someone over it, I'd say something like 'look (person)... I know I've hurt you for saying what I did before. I truly am sorry for it, but I see you are still hurt over it. If you wish, we can end things between us. I don't want to make you sad.'
