I am a neurodivergent 26-year-old male. Because of depression and becoming a NEET for 3 years, I am graduating late. I will get my healthcare degree by the time I am 28 or 29. I see many unemployed pharmacists but my parents keep reassuring me unlike other pharmacists, I will certainly find a job, somehow.On top of that, I have no friends, and I sit in my room all day. I don't even play video games. I just surf YouTube and listen to the same 4-5 songs I've been listening to for the past decade+. I never outgrew my 16-year-old self.I am also a virgin and I haven't dated before.Thinking about my life post-graduation fills me with dread because I am scared I might not get a job in the first place, or if my situation relapses and I become hyper-depressed again and become unable to work.I am searching for something private that I can learn, master, or do in my free time that has meaning. No drawing, no coding, and nothing super hard. Should I learn a language? But what if I don't want to move anywhere?Also, I have been wondering, should I just give up ever becoming fit to date and accept being a virgin and just hedonism-maxx not caring about my dating market value? Or will my situation change?Please help me.

Healthcare is going to be huge thanks to the aging of the west. Not sure about pharmacy (which always felt like a fake job that could be replaced by a vending machine), but you could maybe transition to a different role if that doesn't work out. Dating is harder, but since you're still in school, you have plenty of women around. Just ask one of them to go the movies with you. Not saying this will be easy if it's your first time, but the way you're living now isn't easy, either. Wouldn't recommend giving up at your age+situation.

This fulfills a couple of purposes:>gets you to get out amongst people (crucial to preventing depression, breaks the mundanity of filling labels and pill bottles all day)>expands your music taste>bolsters your local music scene>gets you to talk to the regulars that show up (MAYBE you manage a friend or a date if you have a particularly good time)and there are a lot of neurodivergents within these scenes. It's very low stakes, and no one judges if you don't dance, or leave early if you're not enjoying the music. Protip: if the show costs more than $12 you're not looking hard enough
