I didn’t want to ask this on other websites because I need actual honest answers. Wife is 25.5 weeks pregnant with our first baby (son), 170cm tall and had a starting weight of 65.8 kg. Flash forward to now and she’s only gained 4.5kg, which is well under what I expected. Frankly I’m seriously concerned. Told her about it but she shuts down and becomes aggressive/defensive/etc. Don’t like to load more stress onto her than necessary bc of the baby, so I’ve tried to keep my concerns to myself and the doctor. OBGYN says there’s nothing to worry about. Niggling thoughts in the back of my head say that this medical routine - to say nothings wrong until something goes catastrophically wrong. I understand I’m probably overreacting; any advice on this topic? She seems healthy otherwise, but her wigging out makes me suspicious that there’s problems or issues she’s experiencing that I’m not being told about. (Both 25 for context)
>>35025333Do you have any knowledge or idea how much weight the average pregnant woman gains in that same amount of time? Because if the problem is its just not matching your expectations, you're probably worrying over nothing.
If the 20 week ultrasound was good then I wouldn't worry about it until the OB says to worry about it
>>35025364The fuck do doctors know, what some textbook written by a jew says?
>>35025375Yeah what would a practicing obstetrician who has been delivering babies and handling pregnant women's healthcare for years know about babies or pregnant women? Fucking losers. I bet they think direct hands on experience means something.
>>35025350Based on my research (and I’m no expert, ofc) she should be up 5.4kg, so she’s about 1kg under target. I’m not counting weight fluctuations. >>35025364Thank you. It was very good. No defects or troubles. He’s right on track for growth. I just don’t want anything to go wrong when the finish line is in sight.
>>35025441Well just make sure your wife does the proper shit>no drinking alcohol>healthy diet>less stressMy gut tells me this is being followed, so keep up the routine and there shouldn't be any major problems. If the weight is still nagging at you, the lower weight than average right now by itself isn't a bad thing. Sometimes babies gain a lot of weight in the last trimester compared to the others as they further develop and require more and more nutrients. No two babies grow the exact same way. You might just be waiting on your son to have a final growth spurt before he's born. If you see your wife start eating more than current as the third trimester occurs that's probably the baby getting on its last few pounds.
10th percentile. 5.4kg weight gain is the average, not expected.Stop being ocd. Measuring weeks with 0.5. As if 3.5 days out of 9months make a difference when a whole week off still counts as full term.
