So I don't have anything against black guys, but I know my parents would never accept it if I brought a black guy home so I never tried dating them. This guy from my humanities course has been telling me how that is still racist because it's enabling my parent's racism and I should be open to dating anyone if I'm not like that. I felt like he was just saying it to get me to date him, but part of me felt like maybe he's right and it has been racist of me since a lot of racism is stuff you don't realize you're doing.I'm kind of racist online as a joke around friends but I never meant it sincerely so now I'm just feeling a little worried like what if I am more racist than I thought I was?
>I felt like he was just saying it to get me to date himBlack Americans are really sensitive to that stuff either way. >racistIf you do meet a black guy who's worth it you can cross that bridge then. Seeking one out to prove you're not racist is stupid
Being racist is a good thing. It's also normal and well adjusted behavior. Blacks are a very bad investment for you and it will not go well if you let it happen.

Your preferences are your own absolute right to have.Frankly, that kind of aggressive ant-racism, the pretending that differences don't matter, and that stripping one's children of identity to prove a point is somehow virtuous, is far more corrosive than any kind of dating preference could ever be.People treat racism like witchcraft or blasphemy in the 1500s. Stop giving ideologues that kind of power over you. They know full well the connotation of the word--the mental image of somebody happily abusing dark-skinned children. But they will slap the term onto literally anything they don't like as a way to browbeat people into doing what they want. Are you going out of your way to make another person's life miserable for no reason but their race? No? Then stop worrying about what you're called. You're doing nothing wrong, and if anyone wants to whine about it, that's their problem.>I felt like he was just saying it to get me to date himThat's because he was. Don't associate with people who try to guilt you into accepting them.

Being racist is good.
>>35028949What is that black guy offering you that will make up for the wedge that him dating you will drive between you and your parents allegedly?I also don't buy that your parents are racist, or that they would dissaprove of you dating him. This reeks of larp
