If the point is the challenge in making something large enough and suitable to house both in an effective way then yes i guess. However, multi-species is most commonly desired by people who think combining two or more will result in some sort of greater interaction potential in a social dynamic sort of way. Like if you were to raise a dog and cat together there would be some friendship or something extra there. This does not happen with reptiles. For reptiles they either completely ignore each other or they kill each other, those are the two options. For this reason it's strongly recommended, if you desire two different species, to house them separately. You can put the tanks side by side and have both right there without the possibility that you find one dead in the morning.

Parents just went on vacation after deciding to rescue this turtle from a bag of crawfish, we put him in a tank with a bunch of soil from a nearby river, treated water, and a circulation fan from my saltwater tank.
He seems to be doing okay so far but isn't eating much, just a bit of the store dry food and eating the bugs/worms that came in the dirt. Looks like he got punched in the eye at some point.

I've seen it with multiple species of darts or tree frogs at several well funded and highly regarded aquariums in the US, but they're always very large - the smallest was maybe a 4x6x4' which just had two species. Mystic Aquarium (famous for its beluga whales) has a roughly 6' cube that has four or five different, similarly sized dart species, but I suspect they are placed in there as full sized adults.

Any advice on a ball python not eating? It’s been 2.5 months. She did this in the past after eating a slightly bigger than normal rat however that only lasted 5 weeks. She’s not losing weight, still in the 1500s grams (my weigh set up is fucky and she’s a very sociable snake so she refuses to sit still in the tub so can’t get a consistent spot on weight). As mentioned, sociable and high energy. Husbandry is fine, even gave her an extra hide to see if that would help but nothing has changed. Idk what to do. I know people have had them go over a year no food, and if her weight is fine husbandry is good she’s otherwise perfectly healthy then I really don’t need to worry but it’s still concerning to me to see her not eat for so long. Like I get it, she’s a snake she’s a reptile they’ve evolved to be able to fast for fucked up periods of time and they can seemingly do it for no reason. But it’s concerning anyways. I know if I have the husbandry good, if she’s pooping and eating regularly then my job is done.

I bought orange springtails 2 weeks ago because I wanted to take care of something after my cat died
I set them up an enclosure and nearly from the moment they've been here until now, I've had a constant horribly stuffy nose from mold spores. I'm so god damn sick of breathing through my mouth.
But every time I check on the enclosure, there's either barely any visible mold, or whenever there's moldy food, they're swarming it. I learned they've been breeding because I went to pick a mouldy carrot piece out of it, and they've apparently been breeding because there was a ton of them sitting right under it. so I dont want to remove it because it seems to be working out for them.
I keep them in a little plastic tub and keep the lid slightly ajar, the walls/ceiling are never foggy except where the soil touches it, the leaf litter and moss is all dry but the soil stays wet
I just wanted a box of tic tacs to keep on my desk and look at but these things are making my life misery, is it just a waiting thing for them to get more established? Should I be removing mouldy food even though its where they all seem to gather?

When I was driving today I saw a turtle crossing the road. I was going too fast so I couldn’t stop and move it across the street. I hoped it was ok.
7 hours later I drive by the same area and I saw it’s dead body and I started to tear up for some reason. I dunno why dead turtles affect me more than dead deer or birds.

I made a simple water feature with some carefully arranged rocks and used a small aquarium filter to make a simple waterfall. i misread that as powder oranges at first because keeping actual springtails for that is ??? (there are cool varieties but for a desk prop?) given they are so small. in fact if you are having problems with your springtails (they eat the microscopic and you don't need to see their food) then just get isopods instead. i have powder orange isopods for my gecko's CUC which are fun to observe but rubber duckies seem cool, they just aren't good for a CUC but for you the odd types of ispods could be cool and are big enough to see easily.

I had a small little bookshelf setup for these guys with live moss. It was really quite aesthetic. Unfortunately they eat everything. Anything not a rock or dirt in an isopod setup will be nibbled down over enough time. You can really only have them in nondescript bins of leaves and mulch, because then their activity isn't really noticeable. I'd also recommend having something to eat them, because their population will explode without culls.

I have a female Chahuoa gecko about 9-10 months old. She was eating a shitload and growing but she stopped eating much at all when spring started like 2 weeks ago. She's taken some giant meal worms and eaten some bannana but is refusing her powdered gecko diet and refusing black crickets and brown crickets.

Do females do this in spring for breeding season? I had a female leopard gecko in the past and she did the same thing in the spring, she just stopped eating. I think when I had female tokays they may have stopped eating in the spring too.

My chahuoas cage is in the 70s farneheight, and humidity is 60-90%.

I don’t have any reptiles at the moment, but I used to have Tokays. I rehomed them when I moved a few years back. My enclosure was an old china cabinet that I fiberglassed all the wood on. It was 4 feet wide, 16 inches deep in the middle, 10 inches deep at the edges (it was curved front), and 5 feet tall. I mostly live vicariously through you guys these days, I wanna do a big jungle display unit again sometime, but I’ve got a million other projects that are higher priority.

My Chahoua gecko, she's a female. I love her pattern, she can actually camouflage on the corkbark and I have a hard time seeing her sometimes. Her pattern looks like wood.

Yeah she seems to enjoy a little bit of handling then she gets squirmly. The place I got her from is a shop run by a breeder and he has every single animal except the leopard geckos and cornsnakes in expensive welldone enclosures with corkbark foamglued to the back and some of the animals even have a 36x18x36 exoterra glass terrarium to hid in.

Found the shop only due to morph market local pick up, went into it and the guy has like 50 reptiles not listed on morph market.

The big snakes have likes 8 foot or more enclosures.

I go back to that place to buy crickets to support him, and he even has the black crickets unlike other pet shops.

Uromastyx owner here, had my male for about 5 years now, he's probably around 6 at this point as he was an adult when I got him, I have a pretty big tank and he's been alone for this whole time, but the reptile shop near my house has a female Uro on sale that seems to be his exact species. She seems healthy and my cage is about 4x2x2 so I think I'm good to house them together, I just wanted to ask your guy's opinions on it?

At his age, would he even want to breed or interact with a female? Is it safe to house them together permanently or do they have to have separate enclosures because I only have the one.
I'd like to ideally maybe have them breed, as uro babies are heartbreakingly adorable, but I don't want to risk them not getting along and possibly hurting or bullying each other.
My little guy just seems bored and getting him a girlfriend would be cool. Also the babies would be great to sell if I could find buyers.

Yea I did more research and I found out that the salesman was basically full of shit and trying to make a quick sale when he told me it would be fine to keep them together, every source I read unanimously agreed that uro males are way to sexually aggressive and they need to have seperate enclosures or a ridiculously massive one at the least to ensure health, or the female may get very sick/die.

I have one garg in a 40, one in a 120, the one in the 120 is literally 5x more active and i see her in every corner of the tank at various times, and i also see her out during the day more doing cryptic basking. The male is active around feeding time and does a little more moving around then goes back to sleep. Long-term I'm going to try to co-hab and breed and use the 40 for juveniles.

What local animals can get in that shell? I hope a fox tipped the bucket over and just ended up letting it out.

Happened to a turtle in my neighborhood. It was crossing the road in a residential suburban neighborhood and some retarded fucking cunt ran it over and crushed its shell in on one side. We took it to a preserve but it later died of its injuries. They can't have been going more than 15 miles an hour and it was broad daylight in the afternoon. There was no heavy brush on either side of the road to hide the turtle until they saw it. They either saw it and hit it on purpose or were so oblivious that it could have just as easily been a dog or a child and they still would have run them down.
Hopefully the faggot who was behind the wheel dies in an equally horrifying and painful way.
