I'm going to post a platypus every day until all of /an/ wants to snuggle a puggle

I have also been thinking if the daily reminder to want a platypus is too nebulous. It seems to confuse some anons. I didn't want to completely steal Sakurafish's every day until you like it, but After her ban I wanted to do something similar. Maybr a reminder every day to platonically love platypuses, but then 4chan being 4chan some will take that the wrong way. But I am open to suggestions. I mean earlier this month I fell for what in retrospect was a rather obvious ruse by a cleaver echidna in a baller hat posing as a termite inspector. But then again I am not always a cleaver man.

As far as I'm aware the san Diego safari park is the only zoo outside of Australia or Tasmania to have one. If enough anons around the word wanted to at least see one live the park revenue could be used to help habitat conservation efforts.

How can I get a platypus?
>>
>>5132173
As of right now the only legal ways are to try and become part of a rescue and rehabilitation group or open a conservation site or small farm with a waterway or pond that they would like to live in. I had stated in the second post of this thread that the objective is to actually remind people to want one in that their habitat is in danger and they need people to care about that. I am also considering reframing the these threads next time. Somehow a daily reminder that platypuses exist doesn't have the same rig to it and I don't want to get all preachy Gretta how dare you not do something for platypus conservation about it. The hard truth is that "Having a platypus" especially as a pet is virtually impossible and wildly irresponsible for the wellbeing of the animal. Having property that they can flourish in and building and protecting their habitat is while lofty entirely possible and there are multiple organizations that could be helped in that goal with even a modest contribution. Sorry for the TLDR, but short answer you can help having platypuses by contributing or becoming someone that helps them, but don't be picrel.
If you contribute to WWF Australia with a symbolic adoption they send you a thankyou and a cute platypus stuffed animal. I gave mine to my niece. Ultimately "wanting a platypus is a nebulous idea" but it's nice to dream and it would be a real shame if people didn't want to protect them. https://wwf.org.au/adopt/adopt-a-platypus/
