Does anyone else feel awkward talking to animals when they can't understand or respond?
It also feels awkward when they keep staring, like waiting for something for me
>>
Depends on the animal. Cats and dogs understand vocal tone to an extent so talking to them is kind of like just letting out a stream of your current emotional state, which can alter or heighten theirs. Also I think if talking to yourself in general is a normal thing I imagine talking go animals is an extension of that in some way.

>>
Fuck y'all freaks

I did at first, but after getting a dog and training it the awkwardness went away.
>>
lol animals are ez, they just want food or getting scratched, because they're hungry and itchy 24/7, like a zombie

I'm going to let you all in on a little secret. Humans can speak to pretty much any animal and most animals understand humans fine. They just don't like or trust you and they have good reason not to. That's why animals so often give you the zoomer stare. It's for the exact same reason that zoomers give it to boomers. They're looking at an enemy.

I don't feel weird talking to or when other people talk to animals. I do feel weird when people speak /for/ animals. not as in explaining what they're attempting to convey, but creating dialogue for them. my mother does this a lot when I visit; she'll say things like "oh I missed you so much anon," in kind of a cutesy voice as if she were speaking for the dog when the dog comes up to see me.
