Dogs are apex predators. If they are attacking people something is wrong with the dog. It is too stupid to understand what is or is not prey, and what is or is not its jurisdiction. Plenty of dogs are smart enough to understand the rules of life at the top of the trophic ladder. Good breeds do not stay good because the stupid ones are allowed to live and breed. When I was in the ER, the doctor tricked me into taking a sedative. She said “Get up” and I got up. The she gave me an injection without telling me what it was. Then she said, “Ok, you can lay down now.” I didn’t realize it was a sedative/anesthetic until I started to feel lightheaded a minute later. It was completely unexpected, as I wasn’t sick or injured and I wasn’t behaving violently. They don’t know how to deal with people who are suffering a mental health crisis.
