Not really. You could argue that Rock Doves don't really need to build sufficient nests because they're used to nesting in cliff crevices, but other doves do this shit too like Mourning Doves, who have no excuse. Doves really do suck at building nests for some reason.

That's not even true. Villages have plenty of pigeons too. They'll nest pretty much anywhere including in tree hollows if they can.
