Lions look more like fantasy creatures than real animals

>>5136132
He says while displaying the most tiny dick behavior
>>
people call cougars panthers… but cougars aren’t in panthera… and when people say black panther they mean melanistic leopards and jaguars… but if they’re called panthers… then melanistic lions and tigers could also be called black panthers…
>>
>>5136257
ok brownschizo
>>
damn paleoschizo is going through a fucking ROUGH one today
>>
>>5136331
He saw people having a nice and civil conversation without him at the start of the theropod lip thread and he couldn't handle it

I would literally bet $1,000 that you don't wash your ass after you shit.

You dumb motherfuckers can't even keep your hallucinations straight. I'm paleoschizo and I love cats.
>>
>>5136309
Yeah it's weird. Pumas also have like 25 fucking common names, which is odd.
>>
Dogredditor having melties after getting clowned on in his own troll thread again huh? That brief period where he went back and we could have civil threads about cats and dogs was nice.

Panther doesn’t actually mean members of the genus Panthera. That’s some retarded um ackshually tik toker shit. It was always just a broad term used to refer to large cats in general, most often for leopards. The word panther came before the name Panthera. Pumas were referred to as panthers before Linnaeus even created modern taxonomy and described the genus Panthera
>>
>>5136378
Paleoschizo isn't a person, he's an idea

Which recently extinct big cat (as in people directly causing their downfall) would you have wanted to have seen in person?
>>
>>5136793
sabertooth cat girls
(they got fucked to death)

preferrably all of them
but a european or persian lion would be hella cool
>>
>>5136793
American cheetah
>>
>>5136827
I second this but not because I like it. Because we know so little about this animal that it's cause for curiosity. It's essentially a cheetah that's suspected to have come from something like a Puma.

is this video right?
I mean in that alot of teams have the lion as the team's animal
>scotland is a Stag
this one can't be right, would be a lion
>>
>>5136402
>The word panther came before the name Panthera
Well that's just fucking wrong lmao
>Linnaeus
Like that cunt has any bearing on the age of a word lol
You're the dumbest fuck in Dumbfucksville.

Lions are like the T. rex. You love them as a child, then you spend your adolescence acting like they're overrated and prefer the tiger. Then you become an adult and look at lions objectively, and you see they're giant social pack-hunting panthers with insane fur covering and manes and are usually comparable to tigers in size, and you realize that lions are indeed the best.

Popular animals tend to have that sort of bellcurve meme associated with them
>>
>>5139341
>comparable to tigers in size
Nope.
Average male lion: 200kg
Largest recorded specimen: 313kg
Average Siberian tiger: 300kg
Largest recorded specimen: 423kg
Tigers average 50% larger than lions. It's like arguing Kevin Hart is comparable in size to Sultan Kösen (165cm and 249cm, respectively, making Kösen roughly 50% taller than Hart).
>>
>>5139372
Note how you had to specify Siberian tiger, which is the outlier. Meanwhile several tiger subspecies like the Sumatran, Mayalan, Indochinese and South China tigers are smaller than the average male African lion. Bengals are about the same and only Siberians are significantly bigger. We call this cherrypicking.
>>
>>5139377
And not to mention, a Siberian tiger might win in a 1v1, but there's rarely only one lion.
>>
>>5139341
Real maturity is realizing that both are cuddly. Lions are better as babies because they're slightly cuter, but tigers are better as adults because of the stripes and because they chuff.

:3
>>
>>5139341
>You love them as a child
Nope.
Tigers are cooler, and better. Always have been.
Sounds like you were raised in an abusive lion-loving religion and after years have simply returned to what feels like an easier mental state.
>>
>>5139377
>Bengals are about the same
Bitch, what? Bengals are bigger than Siberians. I specifically chose Siberians/Amurs because they're /not/ the biggest tiger population, not to mention that they're the most populous. And if we average the average weights of the six extant tiger populations, they're still considerably larger than lions, at 257.5kg, especially if we average African (and their smaller Ethiopian subspecies, like one in the OP) and the considerably smaller Asiatic lions to include them in the figure. I used the most populous species of each, tigers and lions, to make my example.
And I never said anything about fighting. I wouldn't want floofyoofyoofums to fight. They'll be less floofy
>>
What's the smallest "big cat"
>>
>>5139919
Snow leopard, iinm
>>
>>5139904
>Bengals are bigger than Siberians.
thats wrong idiot
>>
ALL big cats are just future rugs waiting to be cornered by a pack of hounds and popped by a guy with a mustache and a fancy rifle

Which one is better or would beat another is irrelevant. Be glad we’ve allowed them to exist. Or my rug collection might dedicate itself to making you lot more peaceful (tigers are definitely the #1 target. lion rugs kinda suck)
>>
>>5140003
K. Your mother still never liked you, regardless.
>>
No Lions in Russia but they have a large park with about eighty Lions
>>

Wrong.
Also, Allosaurus and Spinosaurus mog T.rex

I read a book not too long ago, “What Did The Dinosaurs Think”. As we all knew, the triceratops (being the best dinosaur) had a 1:8 encephalation quotient and was about as smart as a dolphin.
>>
>>5140223
Name one time a triceratops won a fight against a t Rex. You fucking CANT
>>
>>5140227
Now that you mention it, I can think of one that died as the result of one. Her name was Sue
>>
>>5136125
I want jaguars back in the Appalachians.
>>
>>5136379
Lots of animals have different local names or nicknames. Crawdads, crayfish, mudbugs etc all the same critter. Iirc panther was a generic term for big cats. Florida Panthers are pumas but jaguars used to live there so the black Florida panther probably came from stories about jaguars.
>>
>>5136431
Have any of you seen a nature show where lions set up an ambush of I think it was wildebeest at a river crossing. They specifically funneled the prey animals into different lions that chased them towards the ones that would make the kill. I've tried to find it but there are a billion videos and search engines are absolute garbage now especially google.Fuck Google

Tigers hunt solo and carry grudges. Shere kahn was the true good guy in the jungle books.
>>
>>5140064
I've never seen that. Post it.

If Jurassic World Dominion wasn't made by morons they would have had the T. rex die in the prologue fighting a Triceratops instead of a time traveling "Giganotosaurus"

Unironically mental retardation. As in, through the years we have gathered enough information to determine this guy's brain is literally stunted. It doesn't work properly.
