>>5136839wholesome, even for a sky rat
>>5136836oi blooey cant, dun touch me chippies
I attended a seagull and pelican party this morning. Please ignore the cormorant, he showed up without an invitation and refused to leave.
Their babies are extremely cute though
>>5139291>doesn't order anything on the date>"that looks good, you won't mind if I try some"stupid bird
You suck, OP.I hope a seagull shits on next time you're outside.
They gots the souls o’ sailors in ‘em, ya may hates ‘em, but ya shouldn’t kill ‘em.
>>5136836i love them
I don't know why they have a bad rap, they're not any dirtier than pigeons , Also I've never been mugged by them so I dunno I like em>Inb4 you've never delt with them They're fucking everywhere, even dead center of usa>Called seagull>Not near the sea
>>5140078there is no such thing as a seagull, theyre just gulls
>>5136894It's a shame they don't stay cute.
>>5140078the mugging is a learned behaviour in certain circumstances, far as I can tell.gulls need to hit a certain population threshold, they need to become completely inured to human presence and not scared of us, they need us to be walking around with open food all the time, and they need to see that we are easy marks.british seaside resort towns are perfect for this >lots of gulls>lots of people who are not permanent residents in town, so they go "aah shit!" instead of "fuck off!">lots of food sold in open packaging to eat on the spot, fish n chips, ice cream cones, etcI grew up in greater london and saw gulls plenty, but they were not a constant screeching presence in thick flocks like they are in, say, margate.it's like a much shittier version of how british bluetits learned to open milk bottles and eat the cream, but once we stopped having bottles everywhere on every doorstep all the time, the behaviour vanished and hasn't resurfaced because they need to learn it from the smartest ones.
>gullGull is one of a small handful of modern English words that come from Ancient British. Preceding Norman French influences, Viking influences, Germanic anglo saxon influences, Roman Latin influences.Nice.
>>5136836And you want to know the worst part? Poisoning them is punishable by a year in prison.
>be american>can't tell the difference between a mouette and a goélandmany such cases
>>5136878So satisfying
>>5140115wrong. when people say seagull they mean herring gulls specifically
>>5136836The other day there was a dusty package of popcorn or some kind of snack on the road, a starling and two gulls were trying to peck it open. Eventually I walk over from my porch and open it, then scatter the contents all over a bit of grass that was nearby. The gulls wouldn't touch it. It was like the grass was off limits to them. They just went back to the spot in the road where the package was and tried to peck at crumbs.
My favorite thing about going out to the gulf coast in texas is that you can actually see the front line of a battle of the most gangster. There is this line drawn across each and every beach up the texas gilf coast where the Grackle gang meets the Sea Gull Mafia. Half the fun of getting drunk at the beach bar is throwing french fries into no-mans land and starting another battle in the never-ending war. Its like west side story with birds every time.
>>5141467this but gulls and crows/ravens in the maritimes
>>5136836>asshole bird>beak forms a permanent frown
>>5141525i find they more have a permanent look of concern
Why do they call them seagulls?>Because if they flew over the bay, they’d be bagels
I love seagulls. They always seem to target the most neurotic and bully-able people. Hilarious birds.
>>5136836>steal food from gluttonous boomers>shit on geriatrics pulling hundreds of thousands in rigged pensions>single handedly prevent British sea-fronts from becoming completely foreign to the naked eye, so resilient that they can withstand feeding fines.my favourite British bird.
>>5142920They're named after Steven Seagal
>>5136878that seagull is lucky it escaped with its life
lmao you cant harm their nest because of the migratory bird act yet they are here all year round unless its a real cold winter
>>5136836
>>5144133Nah. OP is right, FUCK seagulls. They're cunts and bastards and will take any chance to steal shit from you or actively divebomb-shit on you or even your food. Anyone who defends seagulls should be bullied and humiliated. That being said...>>5136836I fuckin' despise seagulls myself with a legendary level of hatred after one almost shit on me while enjoying some pizza on a pier with family. I've sworn godlike levels of spite, hatred and vengeance on any seagull that even THINKS of pulling that shit ever since.>>5136878>>5143874Fucking BASED. this. THIS is how one should deal with seagulls, absolute fucking cunts and bastards of the bird world, fuck 'em.
>>5136836I respect the grind.
>>5141204Also it doesn't help that tourists FUCKING FEED THEM CHIPS which teaches the gulls that taking food from humans is OK.
>>5145405true dat
>>5144291I once saw a seagull coming in for a carpet bombing. Stared it down and pointed at it. It course corrected and shit on someone else. Hilarious.
I like them, they remind me of the sea
every summer some come around to my neighborhood and scream all nightstarting to consider my options
>>5145429I had a seagull repeatedly swooping and going close to my face recently every time I went out for a walk, one day I had enough and made a punching motion at the air near it and it very quickly scarpered away, franticly beating its wings with a terrified look in its eyes. Haven't been bothered by it since.
