I like skunks

>>5137189Everyone likes their mom.
There was one at my best friend's mom's funeral yesterday.

>>5137189It's like a badger, only stinky.
They do look so cute and full of personality. If I had no moral compass I would definitely try to get one as a pet. But I don't support an industry where they rip half their ass inside out to remove the stinker so I'm just looking at threads like this to get my fix of weird little guys with a nice color scheme.
>>5137666They really don't smell THAT bad even with their glands intact. Like, obviously a roadkilled skunk or a spraying skunk are going to be pungent, but an actual living skunk only has a subtle musk to it, and you get used to it easily.
>>5137666same, I'd love a pet skunk but destinking them seems cruel, like taking away their superpower
>>5137668>>5137674Legit this is something i was wondering, is it really that bad for the animal itself? Like, do they have an awareness of something missing and/or feel distress at not being able to use this protection?Because I honestly can't picture that being much more worse than say, castration.
Removing their stink glands is no worse than spaying/neutering a dog or cat.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pr5nM9Oi14A
>>5137718Seems more akin to declawing your cat, or debarking your dog
>>5137191Why is that ferret wearing a fur coat?
>>5138441cute fella
Full grown skunks look like disgusting slobs, but the babies are the most cute animal in existence.

They're impressive little guys
>>5138020>all of this animal’s behavioralism is based around the ability to execute function>make it unable to execute function
>>5137189There's a family of them living in my backyard, the juvenile is cute and wanders around by itself before the parents wake up
Anyone have the webm of the opossum shoving the skunk into the pond?
