My kitty's "thumb" claw is has grown into a circle almost into her paw pad.
No matter how low I try to cut it, she winces and makes pathetic little noises that make me think it's hurting her.
What do I do?
>>
Take her to the vet or cut it

I'm broke

my cat makes those noises when I deflea her or take a few minutes too long to give her dinner
cats just make sad noises when they're mildly uncomfortable
as long as you avoid the quick, she'll be fine

grab her and do it quickly, retard. it can be over in 1 second.

https://duck.ai/ says you can cut it

Don't be insecure about it, the cat can sense it
Just a quick cut

This. Show a pic of what you're dealing with. Otherwise OP is a LARP and a fag.

cat paws are senstive, so they generally dont like getting them handled.
that pink part near the end in pic related is the quick, that's where all the blood vessels and nerves are. You can trim to just before that without a problem, but you want to give them a little breathing room so cut a little more forward.

also you want to use these kinds of trimmers. dont use human nail clippers because they crush the nail to trim it, which doesnt really work properly on cat nails and can be uncomfortable for them.

don't cut behind the blood vessel. everything else is fair game
>>
>>5139827
eh, you want to give it a little more space because the cats still going to do shit like clawing on scratching posts, etc, and trimming nails too close to the quick can make that uncomfortable, like when we trim our nails too low.
I'd say here's a decent spot, close in but still gives them a bit of length for use. when I use the trimmer in >>5139817 I usually just use it straight ahead of the nail, as the thickness of the blade gives you enough of a buffer than you're nowhere near the quick but still able to get a decent length off.

This. Cut it here and don't bother if she winces; she's being a baby if you aren't knicking the vein.
