>>

>>5139811
Trolling or retarded?
>>
>>5141587
No that's wrong. It was pretty much always known that T. rex had only scales because most dinosaurs only have scales and we already had skin impressions from T. rex. The study you're talking about was simply a review of the evidence that already existed. Theropod trannies are the ones who invented the feathered T. rex concept to begin with. And it was known to be false the moment it was published in national geographic in the same issue that published the archaeoraptor hoax.
>>
>>5141587
Also you didn't end anything. The feather madness still exists and there are STULL people putting feathers on T. rex to this day.
>>
Based T. rex making contrarians seethe.
>>
>>5139811
>T Rex isn't even American, it's Chinese.
Since everyone else is just calling you a retard, I'll correct you. Nearly all T. Rex fossils globally have been found in the Hell Creek Formation in the U.S., most of them in Montana... retard.
>>
>>5143684
no hes right, T rex is more closely related to Tarbosaurus and Zuchengtyrannus than any other American tyrannosaur like Albertosaurus and Daspletosaurus. T rex is an Aisan immigrant
>>
>>5143758
Debunked. The Tyrannosaurus line evolved in southern Laramidia and spread to Asia, not the other way around.
>>
>>5143801
>Debunked. The Tyrannosaurus line evolved in southern Laramidia and spread to Asia, not the other way around.
Its not, we just have 100+years of looking for fossils in north America... And even then you still have the issue of Tarbosaurus and Zuchengtyrannus both being older than Tyrannosaurus. All the evidence available to us points to Tyrannosaurini first evolving in Asia.
Even the oldest American species of Tyrannosaurus mcraeensis is clearly closer to Tarbosaurus and Zuchentyrannus than any American tyrannosaur. Ironically Nanotyrannus is probably a more American tyrannosaur than Tyrannosaurus.
>>
>>5143758
Why are all paleofags creationists who don't believe in evolution? Anagenesis is a thing. And yes it can involve migrations between continents. I know, shocking stuff.
>>
>>5143927
No its not. for starters how do you prove anagenesis when all you have to go on is skeletal anatomy. Secondly speciation requires a split, what anagenesis is describing is a population gradually changing over time. Not a new species evolving. We classify life by evolutionary lineage. If its not splitting into something new its the same.
>>
>>5143818
mcraenesis is contemporary with tarbosaurus and zuchengtyrannus so it couldn't have evolved from them
and the fact that there are already derived tyrannosaurines in north america by this point in the campanian should tell you they didn't evolve in asia and migrate to the north america if they're already there
and earlier in the cretaceous lythronax already shows signs of the adaptations that would evolve in t. rex and there are no asian tyrannosaurs that show derived traits at this time in asia because the continent is still full if tyrannosauroids when north america had tyrannosaurines
plus there's also denazinosaurus in new mexico which predates any asian tyrannosaurine
if tyrannosaurines evolved in asia than you would see their lineage gradually evolving in the fossil record instead of them just suddenly appearing with tarbo and zucheng
>>
>>5139804
Whats the problem anon, its arguably the most iconic of the dinosaurs, and its best most complete fossils have been found in the US.
And its not different than your states official flower, or bird, or whatever thing that every state has and almost no one gives a shit about.
Michigan has a state rock, the petoskey stone, which is actually fossilized and weathered coral.
Would anyone care about that unless they're picking up rocks at the beach of the great lakes? NOPE! But its a thing.
>>
>>5144117
>mcraenesis is contemporary with tarbosaurus and zuchengtyrannus so it couldn't have evolved from them
Tell me how you know nothing of phylogeny without telling me. They all are each each others closes relatives. This means you have two Asian genera and an American one. fill in the gaps you fuckwit. Depending on which phylogeny you use Lythronax is a member on an entirely separate lineage of tyrannosaurs called Teratophoneines or by the Napoli Zanno Nano paper an Albertosaur.

>and the fact that there are already derived tyrannosaurines in north america by this point in the campanian should tell you they didn't evolve in asia and migrate to the north america if they're already there.

There are plenty of early tyrannosaurs dating from the time we don't find them in the USA around 90ish million years ago, Alectrosaurus, Timurlengia, Khankhuuluu, Jinbeisaurus. by your logic. All the later tyrannosaurs that show up in the US are asian immigrates because American paleontologists don't like digging in mid cretaceous deposits... And before you brin up Suski or Moros, both are way too primitive.. as in there down the bottom of the tyrannosaur family tree as branching off not long after porceratosaurids...

>there's also denazinosaurus in new mexico which predates any asian tyrannosaurine

An undescribed jawbone. Until its published and put in a phylogeny we dont know what it is.

>if tyrannosaurines evolved in asia than you would see their lineage gradually evolving in the fossil record instead of them just suddenly appearing with tarbo and zucheng.
They dont show up in asia for the same reason there are no decent American basal tyrannosaurs. nobody bothers to check Asian lower Campinian deposits because you have the gobi and the phenomenal mid-late jurassic/early cretaceus beds in China.
>>
>>5144376
T. rex is lame and gay, even for a large Theropod. Wowie zowie, we filed off all the nice ornamental bits and just made the thing big and stupid! There's a damn good reason that the only "people" that like this retarded thing are low IQ or trannies. Imagine turning a peacock into a giant retarded farm turkey with gimpy legs. That's T. rex. Every single thing that had ever made theropods even remotely interesting in the entire evolutionary history of the animals has been removed - including its fucking arms - in order to make it look as stupid and big and fat as possible. If T. rex is your favorite dinosaur you should be forced to wear a helmet indoors. And I guarantee you the morons that like this retarded lizard are the ones that know the absolute least about Dinosaurs.
>>
>>5144631
And further this nonsensical argument that Tyrannosaurus is a symbol of masculinity is retarded. Tyrannosaurus represents a very specific subhuman, americanized version of masculinity - the 50 IQ retard that loves football. Not the kind of masculinity that built Rome or created the scientific method.
>>
>>5144632
>>5144631
What about T. rex makes contrarians seethe so fucking hard? Is it because it actually has the science to back up its hype?
>>
>>5144750
I'm going to be honest, I'm totally glad trannies invaded the study of your moronic lizard. Was asking for it.
>>
>>5144755
May I ask what your favorite dinosaur is?
>>
>>5144757
I don't know if I can say I have just one. I like Lambeosaurines, Brachiosaurids, Sauropods generally, Centrosaurines. Ornithomimosaurs are kind of cute. I feel like I should like Oviraptororosaurs more than I do, and if they were alive I probably would because I do like cassowaries. I find most theropods kind of boring though. And while I don't hate them, I'm not super fond of Thyreophorans for whatever reason.

Now if you're asking which dinosaur should definitely represent America, T. rex all the way. It really puts that globohomo trans kids agenda out in front. You know the whole permanently closeted homosexual pretending that he's the very emblem of masculinity. It really sells it. It doesn't hurt that T. rex gives off shitbull vibes. Overly bloated, deformed, but beloved by all of low intellect.
>>
>>5144758
>herbivorefag
Not shocked. Seethe some more I’m sure it’ll change hearts and minds.

>>5144762
Why would I care about the opinions of morons that are about to be exterminated due to their own cattle-like behavior and hubris?
>>

We don’t know. We are not in your diseased little mind, all we can observe is how you care extremely deeply that people are choosing a normal thing. It’s giving mentally ill midwit, very strongly. >>
>>5144779

Are you claiming that people who know and study dinosaurs don’t care about dinosaurs or are you just an illiterate retard?

The stats show people care about it more when they like dinosaurs you tard.
>>
>>5144786

Is this the CIA trying to make me have a stroke? Look at the fucking numbers, you idiots. Now compare the percentage of individuals in each category that preferred T. rex compared to the other species. I thought all you living calculators were only good for doing math. What now you can't even do that?
>>
>>5144791
>T Rex is about as popular as the next 6 entries combined
I don’t know what to tell you anon.

Surprising
>>
>>5144803
Ironically yet another asian immigrant... if they wanted an impressive real north American mammal they'd have chose an extinct camelid
>>
>>5144791
With apologies to Getty Lee, choosing not to decide is still a choice. A rising tide lifts all ships, yes, but people who like dinosaurs are 52% more likely to like T.rex than people who don’t. A 2% position 4Xing doesn’t make 29% smaller than 19%.
>>
>>5144561
>Tell me how you know nothing of phylogeny without telling me. They all are each each others closes relatives. This means you have two Asian genera and an American one. fill in the gaps you fuckwit. Depending on which phylogeny you use Lythronax is a member on an entirely separate lineage of tyrannosaurs called Teratophoneines or by the Napoli Zanno Nano paper an Albertosaur.
Nigger you're messing up basic details. Zhuchengtyrannus and Tarbosaurus are consistently recovered as each other's closest relatives and form a clade that excludes T. rex while every other derived Tyrannosaurine outside of that clade is from North America.
Lythronax is still more derived than than any of the Asian Tyrannosauroids found around the same time on the other side of the Bering strait so either way more derived forms are present in NA while they're absent in Asia which would make far more sense if Tyrannosaurines evolved in NA.
>There are plenty of early tyrannosaurs dating from the time we don't find them in the USA around 90ish million years ago, Alectrosaurus, Timurlengia, Khankhuuluu, Jinbeisaurus. by your logic. Again, you're a dumbass for conflating Tyrannosauroids with Tyrannosaurids when the former are clearly smaller mesopredators that are far less certain to be ancestral to T. rex's lineage specifically than the latter due to the former sharing far less diagnostic characters with T. rex than the latter.
There's no embargo against digging in in mid Cretaceous rocks, you're pulling that of your ass because you're desperately engaging in damage control to justify when you can't find any evidence to back your claims so you're reduced to unfounded conjecture and speculation. Which is pathetic.
>nobody bothers to check Asian lower Campinian deposits
China is the second richest country on Earth, also see my point above.

Embarrassing display of incompetence. Just more proof you're a lobotomized shit for brains retard if you're somehow so inept that you can't even remember what you said earlier. The irony of someone this clueless accusing anyone else of misinterpreting their words when they can't even recall their own.
>>
It's pretty interesting they found the Rex, declared thus is the biggest and baddest of them all
And so far this has remained true
How did they know??
>>
>>5145369
Barnum Brown was psychic.
>>
>>5145369
Its a bias thing they discover a giant theropod, spend 100 years specifically looking for and studying it to the exclusion of literally every other clade of giant theropods (spino carch ext).
>>
>>5145217
Most recent isn't most correct, retard... you'd have a point if that shows up consistently in multiple studies..
>>
>>5145563
>goes off on a tangent about recency when that has nothing to do with what I said
Recency has nothing to do with it when it's the sampling that matters because I never brought up the former. Congrats on missing the entire point you brain damaged clown.

>>
>>5143818
It's pretty obvious that Daspletosaur-grade tyrannosaurs were endemic to NA, and of their descendants one lineage stuck around while the other went to China
>>
>>5139758
Solid choices imo.
Do other countries have national fossil animals? Are countries without national fossil animals likely to follow this important move by the American government and nominate their own?
>>
>>5144631
>we filed off all the nice ornamental bits and just made the thing big and stupid
Sounds quintessentially American.
>>
Why does T. rex cause so much seething?
>>
>>5147916
Cool name plus superlative description makes it peak normiebait. Midwit contrarians hate popular things without engaging with them enough to know if they deserve their popularity or not. People who are superfans of other dinosaurs also sometimes resent the way that a disproportionate amount of time and resources are spent on Tyrannosaurus.
>>
>>5147999
So it’s like that bell curve meme where the low iq and high iq agree while the midwit cries?
>>
>>5144376
It was also discovered here, and fossils of it are found in multiple states. If we’re going to pick a national dinosaur, you’ve gotta admit that T. rex is one of the best/most sensible choices. The only other animals that might work are triceratops or stegosaurus because they were also discovered here and a lot of the best fossils come from here. Of the American discovered animals that are both iconic and found in good condition here? I don’t think there’s a real argument. T. rex is the best option. I don’t agree with the mastodon as much though. It makes sense given its weird role in very early American politics and culture, but I like the Columbian Mammoth more lol.
>>
>>5144810
The most significant north american mammal is the horse.
>>
>>5148508
it's the american bison and you know it.
>>
>>5148211
That closely tracks reality when specifically interacting with malding faggots, yes.

The problem with the bell-curve meme in general is the legions of people midwit and otherwise who don’t give a damn.
>>
>>5148519
No I’m pretty sure E. ferrus is more important, probably a top 3 most significant mammal
>>
>>5148689
yeah, but nobody cares about horses. bison are cooler.
>>
>>5148312
Allosaurus or Dilophosaurus would be a decent choice too.
>>
>>5145029
But enough about your father.
>>
Rexchads always win
>>
>>5139758
this feels like another freedom fries tier jingoist stun. associating an animal with a state is already questionable since you don't own the animal and the animals don't recognize your state to begin with, but to take an animal that died before the rocky mountains were born and make it the new bald eagle feels so tasteless and vulgar. like you're actively stealing merit from nature and saying "we BEAUTIFUL AMERICANS created this!"
>>
>>5143818
>camelids evolved in north america that means dromedaries are actually an american animal
Is it just me, or does this logic seem a little odd?
