If you're not allowed to mention any dinosaurs, who is the toughest land predator of all time?
>>
>>5140839
That thing probably
>>
>>5140839
Megalodon
>>
>>5140854
retard
>>
>>5140857
Megalodon lived on land actually, we know this based on phylogenetic bracketing.
>>
>>5140857
>he doesn’t know
>>
>>5140839
Do you mean like which species has the strongest singular individual or which species is overall the most dangerous to come across naturally, meaning packs are allowed? If the latter, humans.
>>
>>5140839
something from the late Triassic that hasn't been preserved in the fossil record
>>
>>5140890
Strongest individual. May god smite anyone gay enough to say human, fucking hate you faggots
>>
>>5140839
>>5140844
Close, but not quite, search for Fasolasuchus from Argentina
>>
>>5140990
Honestly, even under those rules humans rank pretty high if we're allowed to use weapons or at least pointy sticks. Not allowing that would be like not allowing a wolf to bite.
>>
>>5140995
Teeth are part of the wolf's bodyplan just as is ours, weapons are not part of our bodyplan
Fun fact: Human bites can be quite nasty
>>
>>5140995
>if we're allowed to use weapons
NO FUCKING SHIT RETARD, OBVIOUSLY WEAPONS ARE NOT ALLOWED
>what's the toughest animal
>uhh clearly a human in an f35 fighter jet :))))
Fuck you. Seriously. You faggots are so annoying. One of my earliest memories is being in elementary school and having a kid say something like that and just punching him in the face as hard as I could. Fuck you
>>
>>5140995

>Reptile so no issues with live birth being more difficult as size increases.
>Limbs directly under body supporting body weight, not limited by the sprawling gait of lizards.
Why did land crocs not get as big as dinosaurs, especially after non-avian dinosaurs themselves went extinct? They have the same qualifications for gigantism.

Why is his size compared to a hogwarts student?
For me its gotta be the hell pig, I've seen nasty ass boar and wild pigs, and I can't imagine one that's the size of small truck that never evolved fucks to give.
I also just imagine a caveman riding one into battle like something out of Primal.
I was going to say terror bird, but I realized its technically a dinosaur.

1v1, a competent human against most animals that don't completely out weight them a human would probably come out better than the animal.
Like I don't ever want to fight a wolf, or a dog, or god forbid a big cat. But I also understand how they fight, so while I will almost certainly be fucked up, and mostly dead/dying, that wolf wouldn't walk away from the fight either.
Its also worth noting that humans have an insane endurance stat, and people survive and heal from a lot of injuries that would be an instant game over for a lot of animals.
With something like a dog especially, protect your neck, and realize that when a dog bites and latches on, most of the damage i from the person trying to pull away, which means you're fighting against gravity and your own strength. You sacrifice a bite to the forearm or hand and then put your weight into it, which will cause the jaws to lock up and you can use your weight to pin it down while using your weight to attack the more sensitive areas.
That arms getting fucked, you may lose it, you're going to have a ton of bad infection, but the dog us going to be pulverized from the neck down because at the end of the day, you represent the human race, the end of a long line of motherfuckers who turned wolves into lapdogs an conquered the world.
Now if I ever had to fight a big cat I figure I have exactly one move, try to get in under the first strike to scratch under his chin and count on the feline's natural reaction of going "Mmmm bitch, yeah... get under my ear too."
Fuck anything much bigger than that though, but I feel confident about winning against an animal pound for pound. Not that I would want to, but if I'm in a gladiator ring with nowhere to run then you're in the "fuck it, we ball" spectrum of the animal kingdom. It kicks in because the fight or flight equation just ha flight removed.

>gorilla picks up a stick
Calm down moron. No one said anything about an F35, but to pretend tool use is verboten is ignoring biology too. Reframe your little argument to not include humans specifically or suffer your own stupidity.
>>
>>5141037
Already really successful in their niche, probably restricted by food once they become too successful.
>>
>>5141064
yeah but the gorilla isn't going to fucking use a stick is it? You're doing nonsensical whataboutism when it's blatantly obvious from that question that i dont count humans. No one likes you, you will die alone

Retard.
>>
Does deinosuchus count as a land predator
It’s longer than fasolasuchus
>>
>>5141068
Am I an asshole for wondering if you could train a raven to use lawn darts and let it escalate to the logical conclusion as they enter the age of kinetic warfare.
>>
>>5141072
That sounds like a possible extinction event.
>>
>>5141072
Why are you trying to wipe out humanity bro

GET BACK IN THE TINFOIL MINES!
>>
>>5141056
Wolves are reasonable but there is 0 chance an unarmed human is 1v1ing any big cat to the death, other than maybe a snow leopard.
>>
>>5141084
I think a leopard is possible too (but not easy). They don't usually weigh more than 150 pounds. Cougar and up is not happening
>>
>>5141054
>Why is his size compared to a hogwarts student?
Much better than the trend of using Vtubers for size charts
>>
>>5141056
>Fuck anything much bigger than that though
Even then, if it's a fight in a natural environment and rules are "anything goes, just win", you can run until you find a stick or rock and your chances will go up by quite a bit. You could even run away completely, gather multiple sticks and sharpen them and you would have a chance against basically any predator alive now as well as smaller dinosaurs and other extinct predators.

Repenomamus easily. May not have been the largest land predator but it tackled proportionally very large prey

How can you mine tin in foil form straight from the earth?
>>
>>5141161
It was left there by the Anunnaki
>>
>>5141149
Like a mesozoic stoat. Horrifying
>>
>>5141037
Their different astralagus-calcaneum articulation probably doesn't scale too well for digitigrade bipedalism or full on sauropod-tier quadrupedal gigantism
Also pseudosuchians didn't seem to have nearly as efficient a breathing system as avemetatarsalians
>>
>>5141001
Who molested you
>>
Giant short faced bear could probably deal with the land crocs and hell pigs
