how often do you see these lil fellas where you live.
>>5141117Certainly less than when I was a kid. I miss seeing hundreds in my grandmas back yard when I was young staying over in the summer.
They were never very common in North America.
>>5141117Fireflies dont live in my country :,)
>>5141117You would not believe your eyes
probably close to a hundred or more out during the night lately the last couple of nights
I saw them a very long time ago but I’ve barely seen any since.
>>5141128Oh no. She's retarded. : (>>5141117I moved to the US from yurp in the 90s and they were everywhere. I live in the same area again now as an adult and I barely ever see them. Although, we once had an "infestation" of them in our living room a couple of years ago. My wife was pregnant, we were sitting outside enjoying the cool evening air just before sundown (and not having to turn on the AC). When we went back in after chatting with neighbours and the night was fully set in, we were greeted by a dozen or so fireflies flashing their buttlights at each other in the darkness of the living room. Gosh, that was almost nine years ago, since my kid's gonna be nine in a few weeks.
fireflies love moist leaf litter and grasses. everyone loves to rake the lawn and cut it super short like a golf course. no bueno.
They're so cuteSad they're cannibalistic assholes to each other
>>5141117Far less than when I grew up but I've started letting my grass growing longer and let leaflitter accumulate under trees more and they've come back to a small degree.
>>5141117Never, they don't exist on the West Coast.
Theoretically in the grass in the park where it's completely dark, but I don't want to be culturally enriched.
