>every other insect>ewwww gross, get it away from me!>bees>mmm, delicious bee barf, yum yum>goo for larvae? Also good! Why are bees exempt from the grossness factor?
taste good
>>5141648Fuzziness/roundness reminds us of mammals + you can’t argue with the taste of honey
they're cute and we've had a relationship with them for a very long timewhat members of hymenoptera elicit "gross" anyways?its either danger with ants and wasps or cute and friendly with bees
>>5141648people like beetles, butterflies, and mantises though
>>5141672You just know
I think just like humans evolved to be afraid of snakes and spiders for obvious reasons, so too we evolved to be okay with bees because honey has been the greatest asset to humanity for probably as long as it existed.
large eyes make things easier to humanize subconsciouslyits almost entirely this, see: mantids, moths and jumping spidersif wasps didnt sting, they'd be in the same group
>>5141648bumblebees have never slighted man
>>5141679
>>5141691This is terrifying.
>>5141648It's simple, my dear old chap.>they fuzy>>5141675and spidersmany people are scared of them but many people think they are oddly cute. also probably because of a good relationship with man (presence of spiders is usually non-presence of worse bugs, like how cats are loved because they got rid of smaller and more annoying/dangerous vermin)also they're "clean". many bugs are associated with filth but bees are not. and most bugs people like are not associated with filthlike how pillbugs are cute but german roaches are not despite looking pretty similar from standing even though roaches are goofy lil dudes and pillbugs are stupid and lame. but seeing cockroaches mean your life is a shambles so we stomp em good to feel better
>>5141648Fuzzy and big
>>5141699Not really. You have nothing to fear. Humans are too big for us to eat anyway.
>>5141656>what members of hymenoptera elicit "gross" anyways?sawflies
>>5141679Cute licky licks
>>5141648Well, people associate bees with pollination, and pollinations good, so that might be something to do with it
>>5141648cause theyre not grossdont drink blood so not disease factorsdoesnt eat literal shitonly go for flowering plants that all smell nice so they probably smell nice too (wouldnt know tho never sniffed a bee)round = cutefuzzy = cutepattern = cute
BIG
>>5141648Bees are fuzzy and adorable. They do little dances to communicate.
>harmless if you leave it alone>hangs out around pretty flowers all day>literally shits literal candygee I wonder why people don't look at bees the same way they look at maggots and ticks
>>5141648No bee/wasp/ant is gross, neither are beetles, potato bugs, dragonflies, mothers/butterflies, jumping spiders,
>>5141679>see: mantidsit's wild how easy it is to anthropomorphize them
>>5141656stingless bees
>>5142077Some guy is making a whole web series based off human/bug perception differences
>>5141648Bees are fucking adorable fuck offThe closest thing to fairies
>>5142082That’s cool as fuck though
honey bees are a metaphor for white people in the new world
>>5142146literal wasps
when honey bees swarm they go out as a huge group to start a new colonydoesn't that sound like... colonialism?
>>5142146Aren’t honey bees thriving?
>>5141648bumblebees created the friend-shaped phenomenon
>>5141732why
They are the cleanest insect / animal in the world. Their hive is literally antiseptic
>>5141648Soft fur, big eyes, one round part, beautiful colorsTotally ignore you unless you're very close to their nestLadybugs shares some of that too and nobody find them gross
A big beetle bro hitched a ride on me today. It was a sexton/burying beetle, looked kind of like this but rounder. I got worried it would bite/sting me through my shirt, so I took it off and he didn't fly away. So I just held him in front of me for about 10 minutes till we got to his stop.
>>5141648fluffy. same with those fuzzy caterpillars and such.i don't dislike bugs at all myself but this isn't rocket surgery.
>>5141691Stupid bug runs two inches, forgets the threat exists, dies.
>>5143714only 4 bits of ram in these trying times please understand
>>5141679or not just not be a retard and have actual empathy, because i dont need to see a persons face to understand what theyre feeling, just look at the behavior. if there wasnt text youd agree that the crab is feeling something and thats probably aggravation since it couldnt get to the oyster and takes it out on nearby objects, why else would it do that, its because its irrational for it to flipped over other objects for no reason
>>5142092looks gay and retarded
>>5141708>like how pillbugs are cute but german roaches are not despite looking pretty similarI think it’s the long antennae, the hairy legs (bees and moths can be cute with their fuzz, but cockroach setae just look like sinister spines), and precisely their rapid, unpredictable movement.
>>5143963And the unwholesome texture of the chitin that looks filthy. And the unholy nightmarish underside that has a sickly colour and is out of a nightmare. Cockroaches are proof Satan exists.
>>5141648
https://youtube.com/shorts/pMEwo_Fw4-Q?is=TtLSdz5OB8obpkZ3he's fast!!
>>5142082is that the animal itself or just its horrifying tyrranid hive?
>>5144271The latter.
>>5144238Look at it bumbling around, awW FUCK
>>5144273ok I might have phrased that poorlyare stingless bees considered gross because of themselves or because of their weird tyranid hives
>>5141672
>>5142082they cute
>>5141648Because they are feared for the sting factor
>>5141648I like bees :)
>>5142082That’s fucking awesome holy shit.
>>5141648A lot of animals are exempt from the "ick" factor in all groups. Rats and opossums are seen gross pests while dogs and other mammals aren't.Turtles and lizards are loved reptiles while crocs and snakes are usually hated or feared. Eagles and doves are liked while seagulls and vultures get the short hand of the stickBees and butterflies are liked while ticks and bedbugs are near universally despised Tropical fish and other marine life are romanticized while sharks remain infamous.
>>5143739KEK
>>5147686>all mammals are equal! #ratlivesmatter stop bigotry!>end arthropod discrimination #istandwithticks #endantiixodism
>>5141648Because they are cute. If something is cute it is for our benefit, but 99% of insects are gross.
>>5141691>>5141731>too big for us to eat anyway>usI guess the elites aren't reptilians, they're actually insectoids in disguise.
>>5141708He said insects you dipshit
>>5142093>SCHLOP SCHLOP SCHLOP ha-ha look at him go
>>5147686People like dogs until it's a shitbullPeople like turtles and lizards until it's a komodo dragon and a snapping turtle People like doves until they're pidgeons People like bees until they're wasps
>>5147898What the fuck is a pidgeon.
>>5143939This. Emotions are emergent from the subconscious, and the subconscious isn’t unique to man. It’s not a large logical leap to say that we experience most of the emotions animals do; they had to come from somewhere.
I do some beekeeping as a hobby with my siblings and I still find them to be horrifying.
>>5141648we humans still are scared of a bee's stinga lot of any insect will frighten a human, if momentarily
>>5141672Beehead yourself and buzz off
>>5142093Best head of the whole hive, and best of all I heard she is easier than the queen!
>>5142092Why do they look so different when they are the same bug?
>>5142092This causes me genuine horror. It looks like a virus strand created by ai. Maybe I am a faggot but this gives me the creeps.
Bees don’t infest food stores.
>>5141648Compare this to something like an american cockroach and you'll see why.
all bugs are nice, even the mean ones
>>5147989one was drawn to appeal to furfags
bees have very human looking vaginas
>>5141648>every other insect>ewwww gross, get it away from me!That's just not true though. People like butterflies, even moreso than bees since there's no risk of being stung, and there are a lot of charismatic beetles like ladybugs or fireflies. Ants as well are generally well liked so long as they aren't infesting your house.
